RE: Happy Caturday: Little Tiger turned out to be a mother cat.

I've been watching videos on dumpster diving on YouTube, recently. People go round the big shops on the retail parks and look through the big refuse skips belonging to the shops. You wouldn't believe what they throw away that could have been given to charity.

We have a big pet shop here called 'Pets at Home'. People find lots of dog and cat food and bird seed in the skips. Whatever they take, they either keep, sell, or give it to charity or the food banks. If they don't, everything will just go to landfill.

It’s frustrating that these big shops throw things away that can be used or recycled.

It's a pity you don't live here, as I'd love to go dumpster diving for cat food!

PS I think I've accidentally 'unfollowed' you, but I'm back now! 🙂

That’s very funny about the ‘follow’ button. It happened to me from time to time! It’s my fat finger! 😂

I wish we could go searching for skips with cat food here! But people don’t throw away good stuff! Several charities helping stray cats and dogs here are having a hard time. People couldn’t afford to donate cat food as often as before. It just pained me when I looked at these videos asking for help. People here threw away their pets when they got older.

Those cat and dog food in those skips could feed hundreds of stray cats and dogs. If I had more budget for cat food, I would feed more stray cats at other deserted dock. But that place was quite dangerous.

Today I went to feed temple cats in the evening. They all looked quite skinny. Other two ladies have been absent for almost a month now. I hope they were alright in good health.

The skinny monk looked quietly under some kind of stress. The other monk tried to blame him for feeding cats which made the temple dirty and smelly. I hoped he could keep his cool, I knew he was very angry and he couldn’t react to accusation. Luckily the head monk wasn’t easily dominated and was wary of the political wrangling.

I hope the two ladies would come back to feeding these cats soon.

I know how you feel. The UK is supposed to be a nation of animal lovers, yet some people still give their animals away when they get old or have to pay for vet's bills. You can only do your best. I'm sure the cats appreciate all that you do for them.
