The theme for this week:

Welcome to a another round of the #POBPhotocontest
This week the subject is: TREES

Trees can be a very interesting subject to photograph. I actually shoot a lot of photos that have trees in them.
But the challenge is to make it an interesting one.

So go out and shoot some trees!
Here is an example of a shot I made a few weeks ago of some tree tops myself.

Good luck!

About the POBPhotocontest

The #POBphotocontest is a weekly photography contest with a different subject every week. It runs from Sunday until next Sunday (8:00 PM CEST).
My intension is to make this contest accessible for everyone; from experienced photographers with professional cameras to beginners shooting with their phone camera. Everyone can join!

Every week you can create a blog post for this contest with at least one photo that that meets the subject of that week. That photo needs to be the first photo in the post.
Although it is allowed to use a photo from your archive it is more fun to go out and shoot new photographs.

Your photo should tell a story by itself, but also write something about your photo or photo's in your post. Share some background information about the subject, location or techniques you used and why you submitted this photo for the contest.
Don't forget to set #pobphotocontest as one of the tags] of your posts since that is the way I can find all the submitted photos.

You can also put your photo with a link to your post in the comments of this post.

The contest ends next Sunday 8:00 PM CEST.
I will personally judge the photos and select 3 winners based on both the quality and originality of the photo and the additional information in the blog post itself.

The winners will receive POB tokens and Ecency points.

Wow! Another awesome subject!! We all love trees, in fact we just had our nature hike my sister, my son and myself a few days ago. We really had a great nature bathe specially with the many towering trees inside the forest here in my city.
I will definitely join this round. Thank you.

Nice sepia colors in this one!

Interesting tree! Is it actually one tree or are it several ones?

The original "host" tree is just one then this Parasitic kind of plant which is the Balite starting as a small root then Grows insanely wild, augmenting all over the host tree until the original tree dies, the Balite tree takes possession and dominion of the once giant tree.
That's why if you look at this tree, it looks like it's a combination of many trees but actually it's not.

Just like this tree below. The Balite roots are starting to take possession of this big fig tree. You see its roots growing wildly, usually they start at the bottom then growing upwards until completely it kills the original tree. Probably after ten years this Balite plant have taken over this huge fig tree. Such an interesting plant, really. Reminds me of the knights and kings, taking possession of kingdoms.

Very interesting these parasiting plants. Funny how these two manage to live in harmony.
Thanks for your explanation.

Interesting point of view. Thanks for joining the contest. That tree gives nice shadow in summer. Most of the trees over here are barren now because it is winter.

Yeah, I saw the photos of the snow, the trees no more leaves.

Cool patterns! It almost looks burnt because it is all black.

Yeah...due to sunlight it looks black , in real it looks different :-)

Nice one. I like the fact that is in black and white.

Thanks! Thought it might work with the mood I was going for. 😁

Hi @friendlymoose

Here is my contribution to the contest.

This is my entry for this round :

Hi,

Here my entry.

Why are the inhabitants of Oviedo called Carbayones (name of a large oak tree in the Asturian language)?

I think the woman in the statue is thinking about it and has the answer.
