As today marks the fathers day,a day when fathers are celebrated worldwide, we’d look at what the good book says about the man
Genesis 2:18.
And the LORD God said it is not good that the man should be alone: I will make him an helpmeet for him. (KJV)
Now the Lord God said, it is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone: I will make him a helper (suitable, adapted, and complementary) for him (AMP).
After the awesome creation of Adam, God gave him work to do, to cultivate the garden (Genesis 2:15-17). Even while Adam was enjoying the presence of God alone in the garden, and in the midst of everything, God saw that it is not good enough; it is not sufficient and satisfactory that a man should be alone. The supreme God of the universe saw that being a man alone is not sufficient despite enjoying the presence of God.
What is being alone? In order to have self-discovery, you need time alone. In order to know God, you need to be alone. Being alone will make you see what fits you and what works for you. That a man is alone means he is matured, he knows His God and creator. Being alone does not necessarily mean he is single. Even Adam does not know he needs any woman, but God saw the vacant place another being need to come and fill naturally. Before I proceed, who is a man then? A man is not a kid: According to dictionary, a man- An adult male.
The person is mature enough and he has understanding. Relationship/marriage is not for boys, it is for the matured ones who understands the purpose and meaning of relationships. Christ was saying that therefore shall a man not a boy, if you are not a man yet that is if you are not capable of responsibility yet stay in your father’s house.
Don’t go into marriage. It is important to note this, there are many boys going into marriage without having understanding. Such boys beat, molest, and punish their wives. It is a privilege that comes with a lot of responsibility.
Most men believe that being a good man means supporting his family financially. It means much more than that. A man should also contribute to the emotional, spiritual, physical and mental well-being of the family. It is important for every man to note that being alone means you are matured spiritually and you know what you are doing. Before you start craving for a woman, you need to be alone, self- sufficient, you work or cultivate, you have discovered your purpose and you are already working in purpose.
Earlier I defined being a man as an adult who is capable of responsibility it does not stop there, it means you are capable of leadership and you can contribute to the spiritual, emotional, physical and mental well-being of his family, note that you can’t give what you don’t have.
As a leader, you need to motivate and mentor yourself before others. And God said it is not good that the man should be alone... therefore before you reach that maturity stage called “A MAN” You need to discover yourself with God, within yourself so that you can pour yourself to others. And I will make a helper (suitable, adapted, and complementary) for him. This is Almighty God talking, He said and I will “MAKE”. I will want to call your attention to the word “make” according to dictionary to make means to build, construct or produce.
God is still in the business of making men, it is not possible to build or construct in a day, it takes process. God is saying here that he will build or construct a helper suitable for him. To build means to form by combining materials or parts. God knows how to form a woman for a man, to form into shape benefitting the man. God will form the woman in character, in the behavior and in all things she needs to help the man. A woman was made out of a man; we can see this 1 Corinthians 11:8, for the man is not of the woman but the woman of the man. A woman was made out of a man; then this will lead us to THE WOMAN.
