Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. It's been a hectic month for me as I finished my last exam for the session this year. It has been an interesting and stressful ride this semester, but I am not done yet as more tasks await me from Monday as I will be undergoing teaching practice in a public school. Last semester was kind of overwhelming with the school activities plus the exam this semester had to be rescheduled to the new year because of a little overlap in the school calendar.
The one-month holiday which I already planned to embark on has come to a close because I won't be going home as the teaching practice falls throughout the holiday month till the return date of old students which will be early March which means school activity for the new session will begin immediately which also means no rest for me anytime soon which is kind of a bump. It's all going to be new to me because I haven't done teaching before, and honestly, I don't think I am properly ready to undergo this exercise because it will be my first time handling a class.
Teaching is not something I thought of doing before, and the stigma attached to the profession down here makes it even worse for your minds to pick it as a long-term career, which is kind of sad because teachers have been the key factors in bringing civilization to this present time. Years back, it would've been a privilege to be called a teacher or a notable head in education because the respect it brought was huge as people saw teachers as the smartest people in the community, but now it is a little different as people only see teaching as the last result in this part of the country.
Monday is going to be all new with the experience I am about to get in February and I can only hope everything goes smoothly because honestly I kind of feel nervous which is okay, but at some point, I need to gather the courage and take this course by the horn because it's a six-unit course and I can't afford to get a low grade for it not to affect my CGPA in the long run during my time here in school. The preparation on Monday has already been going well on my part as I have sorted out the corporate wear I will be wearing for the week, and by Monday, I should get more materials from the school to form my lesson notes and unit plan.
There is not much to do, but I hope for the best throughout February and see how this journey takes me. I hope to share more here in the coming weeks. It's going to be a huge month and I just hope my supervisor gets a good impression from me once they get to assess my progress so far in the school. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
