What is so special about bricks? Well, for starters...it is this week's topic in the #pobphotocontest!
Other than that, as it is said in the announcement post for this week's topic, it's just "another brick in the wall".
do remember that song😅!And no, I will never dare to say you are old, @friendlymoose! I might say that we are clearly from the same era though...lol. Yes, I
So let's get back to the topic of the bricks...
At first, I thought, I my goodness, I won't be able to submit anything for this challenge. But then it struck me... On most of my outings there are bricks to be seen in one form or another. We just don't pay attention, do we? I know I'm guilty of that... I would see a beautiful building and notice the architecture. But it is seldom that I would pay attention to the beauty of a brick, unless it is really something special like in the photo (used as an example) in this week's announcement post.
On one our recent walks in Umhlanga, just north of Durban, on the east coast of South Africa, I was reminded of how bricks can be very decorative. It so happened that I took some shots which I can share here today to demonstrate that.
The first photo will serve as my entry for this week's #pobphotochallenge.
Walking down one of the walkways from the main road toward the promenade just above the beach. See how neat it is and the comfort it provides to enjoy the view over the ocean while walking down to the ocean without having to be concerned about falling over anything on the way.
Besides providing you a neat, comfortable, and stress-free walk, bricks can also be very decorative as you can see in the next photo.
This photo was taken along the same walkway.
See how cleverly bricks are utilized to provide neat edges along the walkway and also used as decorative features in this little garden. All against the back ground of nice holiday accommodation in the background, showing off their nice brick walls.
I'll end this post with my two last photos of two sections of a walkway we followed from the promenade that we followed toward the wooden boardwalk leading to a coffee shop inside a forest north of the beach.
And that's it for today folks.
Thank you for reading my post. I do appreciate it!
That is a great path i'm sold on brick paths now 🤣
