RE: THE UNTRENDING REPORT: The 150 Biggest Downvotes On Hive In the Last 7 Days.

I do not think anonDVs help. An average user does not want to hurt anyone's feeling by DV. They are not going to make a post about an injustice they notice (correctly fearing a DV from the abuser). They are even quite likely to hit the UV button once. Then they realise they wasted resources and skip UVing next time.

All I want is allowing them to UV next time again.

I even tend to believe that anonDVs just invite everyone to abuse people they dislike the way only the whales can afford now.

Incentivised DVing only makes sense if people are accountable for their decisions. Not DVing anything at a loss needs to be a viable option. For some users, the fixed risk-free loss is preferable over pondering over taking chance by DVing carelessly and investing their time into finding something they can DV confidently.

Zeroing the penalty for careless behavior (ie. careless anonDVs even if not monetised) cannot be good.

I know you are discussing the two concepts separately but I do not think that is possible for anonDVs as they are one of the various available DV-incentivisation implementations.
