Hoy estuve reflexionando acerca de una situación que he vivido hace un tiempo con mi familia y esa reflexión vuelve a dejarme una enseñanza.
Today I was reflecting on a situation I experienced some time ago with my family, and that reflection once again taught me something.
Hace un tiempo hemos hecho un viaje a una ciudad que está a casi 300 km de casa, salimos despues del medio día, hacía mas de 35° de calor, apenas hicimos una parte del recorrido, unos 35 km hasta la ciudad vecina y paramos para colocar un cartel en una propiedad, en ese momento el tiempo ya estaba nublado y casi lloviznaba, la temperatura ya estaba en unos 18° grados.
A while ago, we took a trip to a city almost 300 km from home. We left after noon, and it was over 35°C (95°F). We only made it partway through the trip, about 35 km to the neighboring city, and we stopped to put up a sign on a property. At that point, the weather was already cloudy and almost drizzling, the temperature was already around 18°C (64°F).
Después de 30 minutos se presentó una gran tormenta con vientos del sur, paramos en una estación de servicio y la temperatura era bastante baja, hacía mas de una hora teníamos mucho calor y en ese momento debíamos abrigarnos, llovía muchísimo. Durante el viaje tuvimos un poco de demora por las fuertes lluvias. Por la noche llegamos al predio donde sería el campamento, era un predio abierto al lado del río. (muchísimo frío y viento del sur), en ese momento mis hijas tenían frío y la mayor se olvidó su mochila con sus ropas y abrigo.
After 30 minutes, a large storm rolled in with southerly winds. We stopped at a gas station, and the temperature was quite low. We had been very hot for over an hour, and at that point, we needed to bundle up; it was raining heavily. During the trip, we were slightly delayed by heavy rain. At night, we arrived at the site where the camp would be located; it was an open field next to the river. (very cold and windy from the south), at that moment my daughters were cold, and the oldest forgot her backpack with her clothes and coat.
Por un momento pensé ¿Tanto esfuerzo para planear y ahora pasa esto?, pareciera que cada cosa que sucedía era para acabar con mi paciencia o frustrarme. En ese momento me aparté por unos minutos y reflexioné, pensé y busque una solución, conseguí un abrigo para mi hija, armé la carpa para descansar, despues de eso en la cena, la comida estaba asquerosa y no teníamos frazadas para cubrirnos, de todas formas nos reinventamos y nos cubrimos con lo que teníamos, al final pudimos descansar algo, con frío pero pasamos unos momentos de desafío en familia, compartimos esos momentos difíciles, complicados, divertidos y desafiantes, nos dimos calor entre los cuatro.
For a moment I thought, "So much effort planning, and now this happens?" It seemed like everything that happened was about to try my patience or frustrate me. At that moment, I stepped back for a few minutes and reflected, thought, and looked for a solution. I got a coat for my daughter, set up the tent to rest. After that, at dinner, the food was disgusting and we didn't have any blankets to cover us. Anyway, we reinvented ourselves and covered ourselves with what we had. In the end, we were able to get some rest. It was cold, but we had some challenging moments as a family. We shared those difficult, complicated, fun, and challenging moments, and the four of us kept each other warm.
Todo esto me llevó a reflexionar que nada es perfecto y muchas veces no todo sucede como lo esperamos , hay situaciones y momentos de mucho valor que están ocultos de alguna manera en el caos o en los momentos difíciles.
All of this led me to reflect that nothing is perfect, and often not everything happens as we expect. There are situations and moments of great value that are somehow hidden in the chaos or difficult times.
En cualquier situación siempre podemos hallar el lado positivo de las cosas, no se trata que todo sea perfecto, pero nuestra actitud es lo importante, al final esos 2 días han sido inolvidables y quedaron grabados en nuestras vidas, hemos vivido experiencias incomparables, aún en medio del caos vivimos situaciones muy importantes.
In any situation, we can always find the positive side of things. It's not about everything being perfect, but our attitude is what matters. In the end, those two days have been unforgettable and will remain etched in our lives. We have lived incomparable experiences. Even in the midst of chaos, we experienced very important situations.
