After working in the garden all afternoon, I tried to finish my work well before the sun went behind the tree tops and mountains in Laos. My orange cats had gotten used to seeing me with my bicycle so they didn’t run away from my bicycle as in the past. How sensitive these cats could be when strange things appeared in the house. They often sniffed gardening tools and boxes of gadgets with trepidations. My bicycle made funny noises so my cats were quite frightened by these two wheel object.
My wealthy neighbour in the big mansion had ordered more red gravel earth to fortify the road in front of her mansion. But the work was done in a rush, so the red gravel didn’t get properly compacted. The road became very slippery and my bicycle almost lost its balance. Luckily, my hands were strong enough to control the bicycle. That was a good test of mindfulness and flexible response to dangerous situation.
The villagers in the huts along the riverbank could recognise me and my tall bicycle. I didn’t have the time to socialise with local villagers. As a vegetarian and strict regime on maintaining clean food and high frequency lifestyle, I could hardy hold meaningful conversation with most people. They would find me very strange with lots of idiosyncrasies. So, we just acknowledged each other presence and I just get on with my cycling exercise.
Most people liked to cycle with friends or in a group as they would chat together while cycling. They perceived me as a strange city dweller trying to live simply like country people. Most local people aspired to live in the lifestyle of city people with more sophistication and an air of superiority. So, driving pickup trucks would be frowned upon as these signified working class people such as farmers or agricultural producers. But four wheel drive jeeps and cars would command a lot of respect. I had no car in the countryside and had to depend on local tuk-tuk (three wheel vehicle). So, having a bicycle has made life much easier for me. I could quickly cycle to the village shop or nearby resort for an ice cream.
The best time for cycling would be in the late afternoon to catch the sunset by the river. The waterfront road was usually very quiet with less than ten people walking or cycling along. But it could be very noisy and crowded during local festivities such as the annual boat race and the New Year’s official party for the whole village. The usual routine was the fisherman’s activities on his fish farm on the river. Others with small boats would go fishing and netting for fish in the evening.
So, I could have the river to myself most evenings. It was very therapeutic to be quietly alone by the river. The sunsets were never the same so I could never get bored with watching sunsets. Local people wouldn’t come out to meditate by the river. Somehow they couldn’t feel the magic of sunset and surrounding nature. Sometimes I could hear the frequencies of nature buzzing in my ears. It was as if I was traveling in outer space in a small spaceship. These high pitch noises could hardly be noticeable in big cities. It’s very similar to the sounds I would hear in an old church. I would feel very relaxed after being immersed in these sounds.
I did ask my gardener and some friends whether they ever heard strange frequencies in their ears. No one could hear any strange noises. So, I thought it was all my imagination for quite some time. Then, I read about the fact that everything vibrates and that trees do have sounds inside. I did hear a strange sounds or tree language clearly when I first listened to an old tree. So, I became very respectful towards all trees. I would talk to them and ask for permissions whenever I had to trim their branches. Nature has been very kind to me and allowed me to have a glimpse of her mysterious world. The sunsets’ vibes were always very healing and calming. Mother Nature has a way for healing all living things and beings on earth. I just wish more people would respect and appreciate nature’s mysterious properties.
Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.
Stay strong and cheerful.

Thank you very much @qurator and @ewkaw for your kind support and encouragement.
I need some of those beautiful warmer sunsets here. Of course I would be all aboard with the fishing activity :-) Need some nature to lift me up right now. Take care friend.
