Beautiful Sunday: walking along the riverfront to calm my mind.

in Proof of Brain7 months ago (edited)

These past few days the weather has been very wet and stormy several days in a roll. This frequent rainstorm has made the dirt road very muddy and the garden soggy. I couldn’t possibly cycle along the dirt road as it would be very slippery. It rained in the evening quite often so I had to stay indoor playing with my cats instead. Even the cats decided to stay inside the house and sleep whole day long. I had to pray for a break in the rain so that we could have some sunshine. Besides solar panel couldn’t work in cloudy condition. The solar lamps only worked for a few hours instead of lighting up till the morning.

My prayer worked and the rain came at night. The rain stopped in the morning thus giving us the whole day of dry weather with some sunshine. This was the first day in this week that I could go for a walk along the riverfront. I wasn’t sure if the dirt road was less slippery or muddy for cycling. I decided to go out for a walk since I haven’t walked along thd river since I got my bicycle.

I was delighted to see patches dog blue sky in late afternoon. The rain made all the trees looking very healthy in strong green shade. The air was light and refreshing while the earth was soft but muddy in some areas. I enjoyed the slow walk along the dirt road. This gave me a chance to observe changes along the way. It seemed my neighbours had recently sold bamboo stems to some local tomato growers. Three big clusters of bamboos have been chipped off for building supporting frames for growing tomatoes.

Walking slowly quickly made my breathing lighter and my mind started to feel peaceful and quiet. I had to pay attention to each step I took so that I would slip on the my muddy road. This was similar to doing meditation. The blue sky and big white clouds looked very impressive to me. These clouds seemed to be full of strength and power, there’s a big different between natural clouds and the white strands of Chemtrails. I was glad the pilots didn’t spray for too many hours in the sky. This would give Mother Nature some time to deal with the fallouts from the sky. But more people would have allergy problems later in their lives because of taking in excessive concoctions in Chemtrails.

The rain storms made the river risen very dramatically. Those dams upstream in China and Laos had to let more rain water passing through the dams. The flow of the river was very fast and powerful. I could see that the condition was very dangerous for small boats. Those villagers and fishermen were very skillful at guiding their boats against the raging river.

I saw two old villagers fishing at the edge of the river. The old man had his home made traps submerged in the water. He told me he got a few kilos of fish everyday. The other old lady was sitting by the river, she was trying to trap fish in her hanging net. But she couldn’t catch any fish. These fish have become quite smart and very good at dodging fishing net. The old man had to help his wife by getting into the water to frighten some fish into her fishing net. His trick didn’t seem to work as the fish knew she was waiting with a big net!

I was so glad there was no rain in the evening and the sky had blue openings with huge clouds. Mother Nature was fighting back against human invasion in the sky with chemicals and heavy metals. She always tried to maintain the natural balance and harmony for the survival of all sentient beings. So, we should have lots of respect for Mother Nature and treat all living beings with kindness.

The silver reflections on the water attracted my attention, there might be some small Nagas playing in the river. I wondered if I would catch a glimpse of the local Nagas (Water Snakes) one day. Old villagers believed in Nagas and their ability to transform into human beings so they could join in some religious ceremonies. But I thought they wouldn’t participate in religious ceremonies any more as people have become very lazy at practicing meditation and prayers. Furthermore, Nagas were supposed to be very sensitive to humans‘scents. As Nagas were vegetarians, they could smell bad odor from people who consume meat.

Along the river, I could see more fish traps in the water. A villager had brought his cows to be fed on the river bank. The big cows made warning noises when they saw me approaching. The owner was nearby with his pile of freshly cut grasses from other fields. Local farmers have already planted new crops of rice so cows weren’t allowed to forage in rice fields.

This owner brought his cows on the river bank so they could find their own food there. I found out that two young calves escaped to the fields opposite the riverbank. They heard the older cow’s warnings so they tried to get back to the herd. These two youngsters were afraid of me. Gary probably had done something naughty. They probably did eat some fruit trees’ leaves and fruits in the nearby fields. I couldn’t wait another hour for the sunset so I slowly made my way back.

The slow walk by the river gave me the chance to be close to the water and to observe the silent power of the river. The river vibes did calm my mind and recharge my inner battery. It was nice to have the river almost to myself, the combination of blue sky, white clouds and mountains in the far horizon made simply beautiful scenery. The natural surroundings made me very peaceful and grateful to be alive and being able to e joy my freedom. I prayed for solace and freedom in unfortunate places in the world.

Nice clear pictures of your beautiful land //

Thank you very much. It’s quite different from your seaside walk with waves and big rocks.

All Water is good to be around just about/We being mostly made out of water get an up lifting feeling around it.

A river is great resource and I appreciate & respect the one near me. Just seeing and feeling it flow is something that captivates me no matter how many times I visit. I love how you stopped and got the story of the two trying to catch fish. Fishing is an activity I love doing 😁

Thank you very much for reading and appreciating the river and simple nature in this part of the world. The river has an infinite attraction for me. The two elderly villagers still go fishing everyday! The old man spent days making several traps for catching wandering fish. The tide was too strong so those big fish went deep under the water. A man with wet suit and spear went diving and catch three big fish. I felt sorry for these big and beautiful rare fish. They should have lived to propagate thousands more fish in the future. I thought he was cheating using spears.

Wow you think like me when it comes to big fish. I like catching them but I release them because those are the fish you want to be re-populating. I always just fished with hook, lures and bait I haven't tried any other way.
