Something funny happened with this app; my draft just disappeared so I have to rewrite my blog. This week the weather has been very stormy and I was caught in heavy rain at the temple twice. All the cats just ran in all directions when the rain poured down. I had to find some shelter from the downpour for about thirty minutes. Once the rain stopped I could continue with feeding these stray cats.
The young cat at the skinny monk’s lodging has given birth to six kittens. The other black and white cat just gave birth to kittens last month; she hid her kittens in a secret place so we couldn’t see her babies. So, I reckoned about ten new kittens would be running around asking for food in two months’ time. The cat population is expanding fast this year.
Two missing cats near the riverfront didn’t come back for over a month; I still miss Little Tiger and Spotty. Everytime I called out for Little Tiger, all the black kittens under his protection would run out to greet me. I thought the small black kitten that got hit by a vehicle was already dead as I didn’t see him for several days. To my surprise, he turned up at feeding time yesterday. I was so glad to see that he could use one of his back leg. His back wasn’t broken though one leg was probably permanently damaged.
The two missing cats: Little Tiger and Spotty.
I gave him extra wet food as he was sleeping off his pain and injury during last few days. He looked very gentle and calm; he let me give him more healing session. Other cats in this group were very lively and happy to have dinner after the heavy rain. The old black cat has also turned up after gone missing for two weeks. The new construction work did disturb these cats with loud noises, heavy machinery and lots of workers at the site. Some cats just run away and got lost; I hoped the missing cats were still alive and well. I wished they would find their ways back to the temple one day.
One of my favourite cat had also gone missing over a month. I thought she was probably killed by accident at the construction site as she liked to hide among piles of bricks and earth. A few days ago, I was surprised by a small voice calling for help. I looked around and found her (Tommy) under my car. She was very skinny and hungry. I brought her to see her sister (Julia) so they had a nice reunion. I gave Tommy extra portions of wet food to fatten her up. It was good to see the two sisters together again. Julia was quite a loner herself, though an old black cat has recently moved in to this corner of the temple.
As I was leaving, I heard two cats calling from afar. They heard me talking to Julia, Tommy and Blacky. These new comers wanted some food as they were moaning about being hungry. Another deep brown cat also called for attention; she used to hide under the model ship. I called her Coco; she disappeared for months and came back looking very thin. So, I finally ran out of cat food, including backup wet food. I didn’t expect that four more cats would come for dinner. Luckily, they were well behaved and didn’t fight each other over food.
My stock of cat food needed to be replenished quite often these days as more cats turned up at feeding time. I felt so good seeing these starving cats busy eating cat food. They looked so happy and calm after their dinner. Some cats would express their gratitude by coming near me and sniff around. Their eyes were very expressive, these cats always showed their emotions in their eyes. I was glad that they couldn’t speak in my language as that would make my life much harder.
I was glad to have stumbled on this temple and got to know my first temple cat, Samsi. From feeding one cat and two more cats to feeding almost thirty cats, my life has changed dramatically. I have become closer to natural creatures and could feel for their sufferings. These stray cats taught me to be kind and patient; I learned to listen to their feelings and become more sensitive to natural vibes. I hope I would be able to feed these hungry cats at the temple for a long time.
Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.
Stay strong and cheerful.
Do you post via ecency? They've been updating it. My draft also disappeared. Think there's still a few glitches.
Oh! Yah. Too many glitches! 😂
I post via Ecency a lot to get points and boosting my posts and others too. Uploading photos still give me problems as well. Hope things will get cleared up soon.
Yes, I prefer ecency to post but not enjoying it at the moment.
Thank you so much for your kind support and encouragement.
I wish I could take them all. 😌 The kittens with the mother are so sweet.
Yup! I tried to touch these kittens. But they were too timid and fast for me. The skinny monk just told me that the mother cat was crushed by a car! So, these kittens are looked after by another mother cat. Very sad! I just fed her and talked to her last week.
It's amazing that the kittens were adopted. Just great.
