Baroro Bridge: Then and now. (My entry to #POBChallenge)

The recent Build. Build. Build. Program of the Department of Public Works and Highways in the Philippines initiated by then former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte brought many changes in the construction of roads as well as bridges. One example of this is the Baroro Bridge located about 1.1 kilometers south of the town proper of Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines that underwent widening and I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph the bridge on its former state several years ago before it underwent renovation and this is how the bridge appeared way back then.

When the bridge was renovated, everything was changed in order to match the bridge with the roads connected to it as the bridge became wider with extra lanes were added so that both northbound and southbound vehicles can pass at the same time with ease.

The bridge heading towards the south boind direction.

The bridge facing the northbound direction.

The bridge taken at the approach facing northbound.

Two trucks heading towards the southern ditection. See how the bridge was renovated to undergo widening. Lightings were added to provide a safe travelling especially during nighttime.

Thst's all for now and have a great day, everyone!
