All entrepreneurs have motivation, intelligence, and an opportunity. Regardless of trade or any other factors, all entrepreneurs have these three attributes in common.
The most important of these attributes is motivation. If someone is not motivated, they will not have any reason to do anything differently, which would make them unable to innovate. Motivation can be internal drive or work ethic, but it can also be undesirable circumstances that force someone to innovate and behave in an entrepreneurial manner to survive or attain a more reasonable standard of living. Once someone has sufficient drive to do so, they will inevitably begin seeking out opportunities, taking risks, and more seriously considering the opportunities that present themselves as actually viable and worth pursuing. With enough drive, the other two attributes become less important, because if anyone is motivated enough (for example, if their life is on the line), they will figure out a way to do something to help their condition.
The second most important attribute of an entrepreneur is that they all have an opportunity. Everyone has opportunities, but the ones that entrepreneurs have are special, because they also have the opportunity and insight to pursue it. Without an opportunity to do something, no one can do anything. However, even with an opportunity, most people still do nothing. Sometimes it is because the opportunity is not good enough, or because a better option is taken instead. So, in order for entrepreneurial opportunities to be taken, the entrepreneur must have sufficient drive and usually must have also exhausted all options that seem more favorable.
The final attribute that all entrepreneurs all have in common is intelligence. Without the ability to think situations through and make good decisions, no one can be an entrepreneur. All entrepreneurs must have the drive to seek out an opportunity, have an opportunity worth pursuing, and have the intelligence to determine how to make the most of it.
