One word I can't forget in life is that;
Authors are not born, but made, which means hard work and consistent makes someone a better writer.
This is one thing I find so hard to get when I newly joined the community,it was as if I was writing jagons as little or no rewards were even coming at all,it took me days to actually understand little about the proofofbrain community on it own.
Nevertheless kudos to @proofofbrain for a platform like this, which has indeed build up so many people to become authors in this 21st century. The community on it own is filled with great writer already which sincerely push me to actually go forth to make sure I stand a chance of actually competing in with them,,,, 😁
Sincerely believe that many too, especially new bies might be worried of them not getting upvote on their content ,it is either two ways, which is the use of appropriate tags or your writing skills ,which I will sincerely focused on right now.
How can you improve your writing skills
Lot of people at times understimate the essential part of having an excellent writing skills, which is very vital and important alot and as gotten many users the recognition they have today in the community
You will agree with me that writing , apart from the spoken words,is one of the most important world's oldest means of communication that still exists till date.Think about it, while we may no longer invest time in sending letters to one another, our daily conversation that comes from communication is always accompanied by some means of writing too,be it in messages, daily emails or post that you make on social media accounts or platform like the hive ecosystem too.
Even if you are not good with your writing skills while in college, the hive community has a way of sharpen everyone to at least come out with something at the end of the day, most user's chosen path doesn't at all involving writing as a means of income at all,but being able to communicate and interact effectively is very important to ensure success in the hive system.
After following so many users to see how they present their content and write up in the community,I sincerely believe that their are steps that needs to be followed to make a user a better author in the community, let take a look at the steps that I sincerely got to know by following them closely
DAILY-WRITING
Try start with a Daily practice , sincerely it will really makes a perfect skill out of you, come to think of how you do things that you are not perfect at each day before and now you are good at them, same things goes for writing everyday, even duo at times it won't make sense enough to you,but you don't relent, better still you keep on doing just that.
you don't have to write ✍️ a Long-winded and time taking one every day to practice, even just a paragraph or ten lines at times is enough to start up your writing skills, you can even partner up with a person to actually see how well you have been doing too.
their is always a saying that
practice makes perfect and it leads to perfection
READ,READ AND READ
when I said read it is not all about getting a book to read or your write up,that is essential too mate, but having to read content from those that have gone far ahead too is very important and vital, this will also helps in learning one or two things from thier content too,let take @scholaris for an example, most of his content are always inspiring for me ,that even makes me to envy and admire his writing skills.
When we read ,it helps us from learning how other author's write to relate their messages in the best possible means and it will help us to come up with our own writing styles to those that we resonate most with
Make sure you do daily reading with your writing exercises, you can also make your practice paragraph a review or summary of what you have read in a day, bringing out different elements of the writers writing skills to actually help develop your own content too.
BE BLUNT
Never try to come out with any use of complicated or long words in your write up,most times they often confused the reader's and that is one thing have study about @anacristinasilva her contents are not always long, but the content is always good enough to read.
Always make sure your sentences are short, Never over use words too,so that you won't make your reader disinterested in your content..
NEVER POST WITHOUT SOLID EDITING
For no reason should you at any point understimate the importance of a thorough editing session.
Doing that is an essential thing when it comes to writing. One thing am sure of is their will always be error in our writing and this at times are likely to take away the point at which the content is passing and will definitely reduce reader trust in you.
BUILD A CLEAR MESSAGE
Thier is nothing more disappointing to a reader than a message that does not get straight to the point.
Always take your time to think about what message you are passing and make sure it is even clearer to you from the start while writing too.it is also vital you consider the reader's,by having the taught of what would they love to hear or read about right now
Irrespective of how hard all this processes might look to you right now and how daunting it might sound, but always remember that hard work will definitely come with good reward. You also need to be able to convince yourself that you can do it(which you are)sit down Infront of your notepad or computer and write ✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️.
Thanks for coming by

I will also like to add that people focus more on connecting with other people rather than worry about upvote. If you are connecting and building social capital, the upvotes will come. Don't put the cart before the horse. Plus, this should be a fun experience. Make such you enjoy what you are doing. This way you eager to learn and practise new things to improve your craft
Definitely mate, the worry of getting upvote is one thing that as sincerely reduces the moral of many users, but just like you said it should be a fun experience and I sincerely agreed with you.

Thanks boss, you are one reason am getting better too, your 1k contest too is one thing that has bring out this motivation 😊
Exactly.when I joined Hive few days ago,I taught I was the saddest, because I felt no one saw my post not even saying comment or vote.I did wrote and introduction post which looked like I was journeying to the land of achievers because if I were to write that in an examination I would have definitely gotten 'A' in my English. Atleast little by little am also getting enlightened by the post's am viewing.like that of @lordemmy .it will help those who are new to Hive in many ways. Especially I myself.
Definitely mate, everything won't happen in a day,it is a gradual process, this post took me a whole week to put together before posting and honestly am still not satisfied, cause I felt like something is still missing, but of all it is good to keep on moving forward in order to achieve success on the platform.
So with time and quality hard work your time will come, don't give up at all
Hive is such a beautiful place to be and even when we are not a grade A writers if can we find time to interact with others little by little we can improve on ourselves.
Definitely @funshee thanks for coming here too,it is really good to have such a beautiful writer like you too in the community.
Definitely I agree with you, having time to interact and communicate with others too has a better way of making us better, who knows we might become a grade A writer via that too one day
Many people here on hive have in one way or the other experienced not getting upvoted for their content at some point in their stay here
It can be very frustrating when you write and it appears as if nobody noticed it.
Well whatever the case maybe, the point is to keep doing it and continue to interact and get engaged with other users until you start getting what you really want whether or not someone upvotes your content.
Nice writeup @lordemmy
Definitely mate,at times it might be due to the user content and how they express theirself too,I must be honest with you that am still fighting this too, cause all my work are still a work in progress,am not yet at the top when it comes to writing
We will all get there, patience and consistency like you mentioned is the key
