My First PCR Test Experience and spending time with my little baby

Since the beginning of Covid, I have never landed into a situation where I had to get a PCR test done. Last year in August when I travelled from India to Oman at that time, Oman had no requirements for the PCR test, so I travelled very comfortably. But now the scenes have changed. Everywhere they need the PCR test to be done. It's become a gold mine for them...hehehe.

Tomorrow I am planning to travel to India, but the wait is finally over. I want to be excited but I am not. I am just controlling myself, till I actually get onboard and fly off to India. It has been months I have been waiting to travel and get back home, but something or the other would not allow me. Now also it's not the best situation, but I am taking a call of travelling back home, as there are many things on priority that I need to attend to. The thing is that flights from India are banned right now entry into Oman, so while I am going, I have no clarity of my return. But that's ok, I am not worried about that part, after all I am going to be home.

Today morning I got my PCR test done for the first time ever. I have been hearing stories of it from my friends, how hurtful it has been for them doing this test, I was worried and very nervous before going for the test. But to my surprise it was so simple. I did not even feel anything in the nose, it was like a very small tickle and done. Before me there were some other people, and I saw them coming out with red teary eyes, and that made me more nervous. But for me, it was so damn comfortable, a little tickle and the lady said it was done, I could not believe it. I had no tears, no red eyes. It was just very normal. Thank God. Probably I had a very clear nose so it was smooth.

I will also say, it is thanx to my Jal Neti practice that I do every day which keeps my nasal completely clean and clear. I also advise everyone to do this daily, it is not only good during these covid times but also in general it is very good to keep your breathing passages clear. Anyways, now the first step is complete, and the second is to get the results. Once I have the results, I will be relieved and then I may not be fully excited but at least feel the confidence of travelling. Hope for the best. The result will be shared tomorrow morning, till then the curiosity stays.

I miss those days of travelling, when at times I would just decide that tomorrow I want to fly and it was absolutely no hassle. But now travelling is a big plan, so many levels that have to be cleared. Crazy. Just hope all of this settles down soon.

Since I am travelling, last evening I decided to spend time with my friend. Actually, more than my friend, I wanted to spend time with the little muffin who has become my favorite in the last couple of months. I see that he is also fond of me and we both enjoy each other's company. He enjoys dancing and we both dance together. It is so much fun. I am going to miss my baby.

My little baby is so gorgeous

And I think, even those who get Corona, can fight with it, if they are not nervous. Many die because of nervousness , it makes things worse. When your mind dictates the body to fight with strong emotions, the result would be positive only.

I really hope travel becomes simpler again but it doesn't seem to be going in that direction.

I can understand how bad it would be for you to get stuck, away from your family. This Covid is anyways so depressing due to the lockdown and restrictions (which are in a way madatory). With family, it is still manageable because you have someone to talk to and share your feelings and laugh with. But away from family that too so far in this atmosphere where you don't know what will happen when. Great that you are able to come back. Please be safe and have a nice travel.

I am also very scared of PCR tests. The first time I took it was when I was in labour, apparently, it was mandatory before the doctors could operate on me. I hated it. Labour and on top of it someone putting a stick inside my nose. And I remember they did put another stick in my throat as well to take the swab. It was awful.

I recently got another one because I had to travel and it was mandatory to get a negative test to visit any other state. It was equally irritating this time too.

I've never experienced a PCR test ever and Im not sure I want it. Lol. My hub is the one who always needs to get tested and he hates it.

Safe travels to you!

Hello,Nainaz.
You are very lucky not to have the experience of getting tested by a covid measuring sample kits in the past, but its very common all around the world, specially in Indian Continent, where Delta Variant is reigning havoc despite mass vaccination and immunization.Hope, you would stay healthy and protective.

Wait what. A PCR test in the nose? We get them in the Throat and we get quick tests in the nose xD

It's lovely to find out your PCR TEST didn't hurt a bit, hehe. I feel it's just like a mere Injection, I called it mere because to me it doesn't hurt, it's just a tickle just like your experience of the PCR test, but certain factors like harder skin layers makes it dangerous for some people.

Your pet looks really cute by the way, I could tell how much you love him just by watching these pictures of you giving it some tender smooches
