Covid: Physically Easy, But Scary

in Proof of Brain3 years ago

Suppose this topic has already been sucked from all sides, but from personal experience, it's all perceived a little differently. My wife and I have not been sick for almost two years, since January 11, 2019. We were not sick with anything, not flu, not rotaviruses, not star fever, not even seasonal colds. I think this is due to the sanitary rules that we have sincerely observed since the appearance of Covid on the scene. Masks, sanitizers, contact minimization.

Oh, yes, these lovers of stretching out their sluggish wet palm when meeting at work still can't get used to the fact that I don't shake hands with anyone. They were left with only their decrepit anchovies for compression.

So, it was a complete surprise for me to get a positive Covid test 3 weeks ago. Two days later, my wife and our 8-month-old baby got sick. The information that children carry Covid without symptoms is already a myth that goes into the past with each new strain.

I think we were lucky that we all endured this muck in a mild form, according to the official conclusions of the doctors, time will show... I heard a lot of stories from sick friends that this stuff is not like any other disease. Well, I wouldn't say. The sensations and symptoms are like the flu, it's a little strange not to feel smell and sweat for the first 5 nights like on your first date. 2-3 weeks from the moment of illness terrible weakness and fog in the head. Anyway, it didn't make it to the top 5 of my worst health conditions.

Physically it was not so hard, but morally, fear gnaws at you every day. Because, despite the abundance of information about Covid, in fact, no one knows anything. And it's freaking scary. We came across relatively honest doctors, who confessed that after almost 2 years they don’t know how to cope with the disease and act simply according to protocols.

I perfectly understand how these guys around the world are exhausted by the struggle for our lives, and how they are professionally deformed, so I appreciate their honesty. What we learned:

No one will tell you how the disease will proceed exactly for you, depending on your age, mood and zodiac sign. Yes, there is a general fact that it is harder for the elderly (as with any disease, and in general in life). But for example, the second fact that children carry the disease asymptomatically no longer works. Little natord struggled with a temperature of 39 °C for almost three days, just like his parents.

The decisive moment is 5-7 days of illness. It was during this interval that we were constantly called and clarified our well-being, and the departure of the medical team on duty was organized. If these days you have a temperature above 37.5 °C, then according to the protocol you are taken to a CT scan and the degree of lung damage is detected.

They didn't pick me up, but they took my wife. Together with her there were about 40 people, all of them have lung damage up to 25%. I honestly asked to be sent for a CT scan, but received an answer that I did not match the symptoms. The most paradoxical thing is that you cannot go to a paid clinic, because must comply with home quarantine during illness.

The main success in lung damage is the absence of concomitant bacterial infection. Not Covid is dangerous here, but what it has done to your lungs and immunity, weakening them. And if you catch an additional infection as a bonus, it will already be bacterial pneumonia with serious after-effects.

At this stage, our Ministry of Health issues to all citizens a fairly serious set of drugs for daily use. Among them there is a “koronavir”, advertised as a reliable remedy for Covid and costing 170 bucks per package. Anticoagulants, anti allergenic, antibiotics (mixed with dietary supplements), coughing, antipyretic and vitamins. A full basket of these medicines costs about $300 and all this is on budget money. But when it came to my wife, almost all the doctors honestly said - do not use any of this.

There is not a single statistical and practical fact that this will help you cope with Covid, but there are proven facts about the side properties of all these shit. All you can use is antipyretics, if they don't work, call an ambulance. Vitamin D and a balanced diet are used as support. All that can help you recover is solely your immunity.

I think it's not worth chewing adults that the main task of issuing a bunch of medicines is the opportunity to launch a garbitel's paw into the budget, and not to help people. The cost of drugs that are necessary and somehow work, no more than 30 bucks.

The same applied to the child. There is not a single medication, that will help him to carry Covid easily or reduce the consequences. The only practical measure that could be offered to us was hospitalization. The essence of which boils down to one thing- to protect the patient from possible additional infections if he doesn’t comply with the home regime.

But in what place your chances of catching some kind of infection are increase? In a crowded ward at a covid center or at home? The answer is obvious... including for the doctors who supported my wife's choice to stay at home.

That's what scares you, especially if it affects your child too. All you can do, and all the doctors in the world can do, is to wait, believe in your immunity and hope for luck. If your affairs are really bad, then hormone therapy to stimulate the immune system, and an oxygen hose.

A few words about vaccination. I admit, I wanted to get vaccinated, but I just didn't have time. Our Ministry of Health gives a medical withdrawal from vaccination for 6 months if you were sick. Will I do it in six months?- Rather no than yes, and that's why:

Firstly, while spending time at the Covid-center on CT scan, my wife found out that almost all of the 40 people around were vaccinated by the famous Sputnik V. All of them have lung damage of 25% or higher. Ok, let's say the vaccine will help them to transfer the disease easier. And it pisses me off even more… You see, just a month ago, our government once again changed the rhetoric regarding a wonderful vaccine. And now every federal channel and newspaper repeats the same thing to me. Just compare how it has changed over 1 year.

Sputnik V PROTECTS you against COVID infection with up to 97% effectiveness. The required level of antibodies persists 1-2 years, revaccination is not required.

Six months ago

Sputnik V PROTECTS you against COVID infection with up to 97% effectiveness. Repeated revaccination is required after 6 months.

Today

Sputnik V REDUCES mortality in case of infection with Covid by 97%. Repeated revaccination is required after 6 months.

Do you feel the difference? If at the start they said that the vaccine would protect you from Covid infection with an efficiency of 97%, now the vaccine reduces your chances of dying from Covid disease to 3%, but it does not protect you from infection in any way. Brilliant fucking marketing. Especially when you consider that 3% is already the average mortality of covid infected, even before the release of any of the vaccines.

I believe in vaccination, for studied and tested diseases, it works if you choose a quality vaccine and prepare for the procedure, and don’t buy some cheap slurry from a pharmacist friend and make an injection in a pissed-off toilet of a roadside eatery. But I don't believe in exactly Covid vaccines. Too short a time, too little research, and the state is always shitting for itself, in order to conclude huge contracts for vaccination of the population.

I really hope that we went through this easily, and in a couple of months there will be no consequences, about which there is also enough information, but it is not clear what is true. For example, a couple of months ago I read the news that British scientists found a drop in IQ in patients with Covid by an average of 8 points. This is because Covid affects the neural connections in the brain (that's why you lose ability to smell).

Fuck, I didn't consider myself a genius anyway, and decreased of my IQ by another 8 points... maybe... if I started to believe the famous British scientist, probably this decline has already occurred by all 80 points. Forget... how to make words... beautifully…

Take care of yourself and your loved ones!

Sort:

I compared disease to illness and although illness mentions the word disease in the definition, it's different context, the two are disparate. But then again, I got my info from the same source you did so moral of the story is just be less personable and more antisocial.

You read that piece about IQ decline, right? My English was terrible even before covid, what do you want to get from me now...?

Anyway, good to see you, my friend :)

IQ? How embarrassing. I thought it said GQ I'm so smartest the not.

Pleasure's always mine sir.
