My mother-in-law would very likely suggest a good brand of chalk paint and say have at it! I might die a little inside if you paint certain furniture though, for example well crafted old oak. To me, there is something special in well-looked-after wood. But naturally, only the good quality wood counts here. Otherwise, have at it! 😉

Some of it is cheap chipboard and other items include a table that although made of good wood, was left to weather in the open. It was here when we moved in. It's not unsalvagable but it's going to need some serious tlc. We also adopted a coffee table from a friend. It survived a toddler so we'll need to sand off the ball point pen drawings/carvings but it will look nice with a good sanding and a good coat of varnish.
