RE: POB TALK 01/07/2021 - #33

One of the biggest question I want us to look into is that do you d it for the rewards or for the growth of the community?

Have seen a lot of things since joining this community and if recent I noticed that as engagement as reduced a little bit in which I want to say maybe it is as a dip in the price of pob that as leads to less engagement in the community, which as prompt me to think that many users are here for the rewards,so those it means if the price of pob goes dip the more the level of engagement too will be nothing to write about, which in my opinion should not be so,the POB community to me goes a long way more than getting rewards,to me it a citadel of learning where you have the chance to interact with millions of people across the globe ,where you have the chance to show showcase your writing ability,so it should not be solely on the rewards

What is your own opinion in this?

Yeah, agreed but let's be honest most are here mainly for the rewards. In time it could become less about that when the amount of engagement increases a lot and like you say the opportunity to interact with millions. But at the moment it's far from that. Only thing you can do is keep at it no matter the price and enjoy the growth howrver slow or stagnant it seems sometimes

We all post for rewards and that's a fair thing to do. But where we end up going wrong is curating post which aren't worthy just for curation rewards. I don't see that as a fair deal.

Hmm yeah, I'd say low effort commenting isn't great and curating shitty content is either. And with all the drama caused by downvoting it seems that isn't working as an optimal counter solution. Although I do know some people are using it in an effort to make things more fair and are open about it..

Well said and I agree with you too

I think there's no harm in doing it for reward. A lot of us are pursuing this as full-time work for earning our living and there's nothing wrong about it as long as they are posting quality content. I am also doing this for a side income but I also enjoy doing it. It has opened me to a new path of learning and knowledge sharing which is a must always. I don't enjoy reading books but I get my share of knowledge about random stuff through this platform.

But yes, quitting when the price is low is definitely not the right thing to do. In fact, this is the time to accumulate and stake. It will help you grow faster. Everything requires consistency. You just can't get rich overnight (most of us can't). So you gotta stay consistent and just keep posting quality content. In some or the another way (coins or wisdom), you will get the best-deserved rewards for sure.

Yes I so much agreed with you that, but when it becomes the sole reason why we are here it becomes more harmful not just to us alone, but to the community at Large,we are all after it Ike we should get something in compensation for our hard work or for putting down our intelligence in the community, but what will be the fate of the community when those rewards never comes in like before or when it reduces as the price is reducing now, that why I also think we should think of the impact our knowledge will bring to the community Irrespective of whatever rewards we are meant to take

I came for the cash but stayed for the engagement 😀

Even if we're here just for the rewards, we can't get rewards if we post crap. People see that and stay away from the crap and whoever posts it. Few if any of us are here out of charity or altruism.

As for being here because of the price of HIVE or HBD (not to mention the Layer 2 tokens such as POB), I don't even think about the price. I'm lucky if I get upvotes, and that's good enough for me. The prices take care of themselves.

HODL

True. Rewards will never come without quality content.

I believe people come here for different reasons. While some ar here for the long term, the other category are for the immediate gains. Not condemning them but there should be a balance with staking and selling off rewards.

Ask regards the drop in level of engagement, it only shows while some people are here in the first. While others lose motivation due to the low prices, I'm sticking to learning and building my stake around here. Fortune favors the bold
