Today I think it is the first time that I have participated in any dynamic here, and I do so with great pleasure after discovering the excellence that abounds in this space.
The photograph that I share with you on this occasion was taken by me during this same week in the center of the city of Santa Clara, in #cuba, where I reside.
I took this photo in black and white with the aim of capturing those dramatic elements offered by the ensemble captured in it in an iconic and reference site of the province, where this statue and other details that can be seen behind it stand out.
This is "The Boy with the Unfortunate Boot." A statue that constitutes a local symbol and heritage.
Regarding the statue itself, it is curious how there are different versions of what it represents or what it was inspired by. Most versions agree that it is a tribute to the children who, during the United States Civil War, used their boots as a means of bringing water to the wounded and sick.
Whether this story or reference is true or not, it has always attracted the attention of passers-by and tourists who visit the city. And the most unique thing is that children, naturally, when they come to this park, always tend to play around The Boy in the Boot.

Hoy creo que es la primera vez en la que participo en alguna dinámica aquí, y lo hago con mucho placer tras descubrir la excelencia que abunda en este espacio.
La fotografía que les comparto en esta ocasión fue realizada por mí durante esta misma semana en el centro de la ciudad Santa Clara, en #cuba, donde resido.
Hice esta foto en blanco y negro con el objetivo de captar aquellos elementos dramáticos que ofrece el conjunto capturado en ella en un sitio icónico y referente de la provincia, donde resaltan esta estatua y demás detalles que se aprecian detrás de ella.
Se trata de "El niño de la bota infortunada". Una estatua que constituye símbolo y patrimonio local.
Sobre la estatua en sí, es curioso cómo existen diversas versiones de qué representa o a raíz de qué fue inspirada. La mayoría de ellas coinciden en que se trata de un homenaje a los niños que, durante la guerra de secesión de los Estados Unidos, utilizaron sus botas como medio para llevar agua a los heridos y enfermos.
Cierta o no esta historia o referente, siempre ha llamado la atención de los transeúntes y turistas que visitan la ciudad. Y lo más singular es que los niños, de modo natural, al acudir a este parque, siempre se inclinan por jugar alrededor de El niño de la bota.

Esa imágen vale más que mil palabras. No hay un visitante que no se acerque al niño de la bota y le haga una captura. O desee que le cuenten la historia que estoy segura que como tu dices va más allá de un simple adorno en el parque de la ciudad.

Santa Clara es una ciudad llena de símbolos "El niño de la bota" destaca entre ellos. Gracias por compartirme un trozo de Cuba que amo tanto.@roswell es una de las más hermosas fotografías que he visto de una escultura tan fotografiada.

Es que es símbolo de la ciudad.
