Come For The Booze, Stay For Uncle Ddung's!

Had to take a trip to the mall yesterday for some groceries like 5 liters of Legend shochu!

After shopping the wife insisted I try Uncle Ddong's 10 yen pan(bread). It's a kind of pancake with mozzarella cheese filling, or seasoned pork. I'd heard of and seen this phenomenon on TV before so I enthusiastically say ok.

As the worker prepared our 10 yen pan, I checked out their other food. It's like carnival food back in the USA or festivals here in Japan.

After a few minutes our order was ready and we sat down to enjoy them. My wife ordered the pork & mozzarella, while I ordered the mozzarella.

What surprised me was the bread was very sweet. I was not expecting this at all. When I took a second bit the cheese flowed and not in a good way. The mozzarella is not normal. It's very stretchy and strong, like mochi. So much so I choked on the cheese as a bit slid down my throat while I was chewing. It scared the shit out of me and I almost became vicitm to the old man's curse in Japan of choking and dying while eating mochi on NYE. My wife chuckled, but I told her it was serious. So she traded me the remainder of her pork 10 yen pan. While this was definitely better, the sweetness of the cake and choking really soured my opinion of this place. I probably won't go back for the other cheesy foods they have.

That is sound terrible to end the year old year, and start a new year by choking on a very popular dish.
