About this post, when I look at the topic, I saw myself confused on which particular site to write about from Obudu Mountain Resort, Alumo Rock, Aso Rock etc. But how confused can I be? when a certain site keeps popping up in my head because of my first-hand experience being there. It's no other place than the YANKARI GAME RESERVE. I always see myself going there again cause I love Wildlife and nature itself.

Nigeria is such a blessed nation with so many tourism centres like the Nike Gallery, Zuma rock, Alumo rock, Aso rock, etc but I am going with Yankari, the question of why Yankari can't even be answered by me.

For certain reasons yankari kept ringing in my head immediately I read the topic of the contest. Maybe my love for nature is getting the better side of me.

According to Wikipedia, Yankari National Park is a large wildlife park located in Bauchi State, here in the northeastern part of Nigeria. It is home to several natural warm water springs, as well as a wide variety of flora and fauna. Its location in the heartland of the West African savanna makes it a unique way for tourists and holidaymakers to watch wildlife in its natural habitat and that, it is the most popular destination for tourists in Nigeria. It is also one of the most popular eco-destinations in West Africa.

Its large and diverse freshwater ecosystem houses over 350 species of bird found in the park. Of these, 130 are residents, 50 are Palearctic migrants and the rest are intra-African migrants that move locally within Nigeria. These birds include the saddle-billed stork, white-rumped vulture, guinea fowl, grey hornbill, and the cattle egret. Yankari is recognized as possessing one of the biggest populations of elephants in West Africa, estimated to be more than 300 in 2005.Wikipedia. Of which I got to see a few of the above-mentioned mammals.

The warmness of the water itself introduces you into a separate world, It's more like a natural jacuzzi. If you want a share of this feeling, better come prepared. There are four springs in Yankari, which are the Dim, Gwan, Nawulg and Tungan Naliki Spring of which The Tungan Naliki spring is the coolest. Rumour has it that, this could be the major reason why people like to visit the Yankari Game Reserve. Come to think of it, who wouldn't love to warm bath?
