Stories tell us that Preservation and Ruin come are forces that exist to both create our reality and rob of us it. These opposing forces have given me great joy and sorry in my life. I have to assume it has done something similar in your life.
While preservation acts to maintain stability in our cosmos, it prevents us from evolving. To preserve something means you wish to keep it in a steady state. In terms of food storage, we preserve something to keep it from decay. Something preserved cannot proceed along with its natural state. It is imprisoned in a construct not of its design to satisfy the needs of something else.
Ruin, on the other hand, acts to destroy the current state of something beyond repair. It is a vehicle of entropy, I believe, in that everything will descend into disorder over time. Nothing escapes from the effect of entropy, not the universe, our reality, or our relationships. Perhaps it can be dispelled, for a time, through one activity or another as the immortals have learned, but each of us will meet the end result.
The Frailty that Forces Foundations
Constantly pushed and pulled between the oppressive forces of Ruin and preservations creates frailty, a weakness, within each of us. The pressures of reality, life, and our activities within us sometimes bring us to our knees. Caught unawares by nature, we'd never notice the growth of our own fragility of thought and body. If we do take notice, however, perhaps we could slow it down to the point of being negligible.
I wonder, sometimes, if the gods were ever aware of their own frailty while being exposed to these forces. Perhaps if they did, we would know them much better today.

Due to the number of article submissions we receive, the complexity of the grading, and the data analysis that follows, we will no longer accept entries after midnight of the contest window. I sincerely apologies for the inconvenience this causes.
I decided to hold off on grading engagement. Unfortunately, it's just me and @nonsowrites grading all the entries. It's too much work to check every single author's commentary. We simply don't have that time.
However, the challenge round for this season will be two weeks long. If time allows, we will grade on engagement during that time. There will be more information that follows for the challenge.

- The Word of the Week for this Week is Frailty. Frailty starts the fourth round of this season.
- Next week starts a two-week challenge round. Some simple rules are guiding this challenge, but we will reveal them next week.
- The rewards for the challenge round will be double the usual weekly allotment. There is also up to a 500-POB delegation up for grabs. The delegation can be split or lowered as I see fit.

Yeah sofs-su had a really surprising article. I thought it was a generic poetry article, but it turned out to be so much more.

I'll make an entry for old times sake, but nothing is seeming to click. The subject is so broad and I'm not in the mood to swim in frailties. I can see now how fourteen days would improve the contest. Things come up for the writers and the curators and judges and two weeks is really the time you need to get it done. Good move.

Gotta ask xD a lot, god gave me that weird ass luck of being unnoticed if i dont draw attention to myself, is cool at times XD but on hive i end up being unnoticed front time to time, basically every contest i participate, xD and is weird enought btw.
You're better for asking. Some people have missed the contest in the past. Most of the time, it's because they miss the deadline.
Now and again, a reason is because they initially didn't use the tag, but then edited their post to include it. This causes a couple of things:
Unfortunately, it's just me a @nonsowrites grading the articles. So, we don't have time anymore to search for posts that get dropped though we do find them from time to time.
Even I missed the deadline, but refrained to publish as soon as i realiced that. The tagging issue is not only on your contest, basically all contest deal with it, ask the pizza two tale contest and see how many of the entrys are edited later on, is painfull to look at xD
Maybe you need more hands on the contest? Does POB have any discord server?

Hello. I'm glad you like the word. It doesn't matter where you comment from. We'll see the data. However, what I'll be looking for during the challenge round will be how many unique responses someone gives and gets.
I didn't grade on engagement last week, nor will I for this week. It got too complicate for me so I needed to work out the process in silence. It's also a lot of work. I've got about 2 weeks during the challenge round so I'll be able to do it during that period.

I noticed the absence of engagement column in the grading @scholaris , but then I read about the difficulty it is causing. It is really a hard job to accomplish and believe me you people are doing great with all that scoring and grading system.
I have a suggestion though about rewards. The contestants on 3rd and 4th, and 5th and 6th have similar scores while the rewards they recieve is different. In case if there is a tie, the reward should be splitted equally to make it more justified.
