No doubt, during the beginning of online transactions it wasn't easy at all, especially when it comes to settling with payments after given out your services to a client. The payment disbursement takes a very long time to process, because it's following a delayed due process in order to make it successful.
Thank God that, such analog system of using cheque, and Western Union, MoneyGram, and the rest old payment system for payment disbursement isn't used now, like before. Cryptocurrency came in and made life easier for online hustlers (freelancers). If you work for pennies you'll get it faster for those whose country isn't listed to use PayPal.
