Comment of the Week || Contest #16

Hello Friends!

Thank you for the amazing response on Contest #15. And the results are:

1st Prize - @coolkris

Because I've had a firsthand experience of quitting a relationship for self-respect, it's helped me stand out and above other people who are persuaded into doing whatever to keep their girlfriend or boyfriend only because they can't find someone like this again.

You, my friend, deserve the first prize. You've learned what's best for you with your experiences in the past and the best part is that you are accepting and taking charge of your things.

2nd Prize - @doziekash

< I believe one can survive without having a relationship with anyone.

If for instance you lose your self respect, Guess what happens? You lose your worth and reputation. This is people realize that they can treat you like trash and get away with it. In that moment you don't value yourself enough to be treated right.

A very bold reply I must say! It's definitely not easy to be alone and you have your priorities set right.

3rd Prize - @yhuddee111

Good relationships would always add value knowledgeably, financially, physically, spiritually, socially, business wise and otherwise. By all means I try to avoid toxic and negative energy emitting relationships because these kind are draining in all ramifications.

No man is a loner neither can you learn or know everything on your own, this is reason I value relationships.

A very strong and confident take on your selection and then in subtle way you explained the BUT of relationships. Nice one!

CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners!

Singing, back in those days, i used to sing a lot and I was good in it, till the day it was make knwon to me that, although I may be good in it, that is not the path for me, at first I thought maybe it was just a mere advice but so was it, they really mearnt what the said, we all know when family Said we obey because they always comes first in all we do.

This is about my school day incident, I was in 9th standard. My family insist me to studied in commerce background. My father and elder sister brought books of commerce background but I decided to study in science background though I had bad academic result in mathematics. I have completed my graduation and post graduation successfully in Physics with 1st class result. I have no regret that I studied in science and didn't follow the decision of my family members forced me to have. Later they realized that my choice was right and I should follow the decision I take myself for me.

This is cool! I can understand how difficult it is to stand up for your choice especially when you are too young and don't have enough support from the family. It is not only about proving to yourself but your family too. But then, your only choice is to listen to your heart because that you know will make you happy. You took a wise decision!

Thank you so much for your kind words dear mam @sugandhaseth have a nice day!

That was a good decision you have make🤗

Honestly thinking about this question brought back so many memories. This is because life is all about making decisions and I have made quite a lot of Decisions in my life. Not all of them I'm proud of, but then there are some decisions I have taken in life that when I remember them, it puts a smile on my face and makes me a bit proud of myself.

One of these decisions was when i decided to leave my family house and stay on my own, fending for myself.

Back then, When I took this decision, there was serious battle at home. This is because my parents never wanted me to leave the house, reason being that they didn't like the idea of me having to pay for house rent, pay for food and the rest when I can get it all for free at home.

I was totally determined to win the battle, because I believed that if I start fending for myself, it would motivate me to work harder and earn more. Looking back now, I am actually proud of myself because there is a lot I wouldn't have achieved if I remained in the family house.

I am totally In with your decision of staying independently. I think this is one experience all of us should have after a certain age. It helps us to grow independently which not only makes us strong but also gives us a lot of exposure. It helps us develop a mindset that is free from the prejudice of the family members. It aids in self exploration too.

WOW! Reading through your answer make me keep my mouth open, this I can also see myself in it, because it was what happened to me also, it was right and a good decision you have took 🤗

I decided not to go out with a friend to read in a higher institution and that night he lost his mobile device and am glad of that decision.

This is actually a great question. I've made lots of decisions but then which do I feel proud of??

One of the biggest decisions I made sometime in the past was .

Choosing not to stop dancing

If you were in a country like mine you'll understand what we actually go through to be given the chance to use our talents. Dancing had been so challenging for me because there was actually no support from my parents or anyone when I started. I actually had this dream to be able to touch people's lives by bursting moves, I saw the vision early in my life and then I started to work towards it.

My parents disapproved instantly, they wouldn't have it, they wanted me to focus on my studies and not get distracted. Some of my friends made jest of me because they didn't think I could ever become a good dancer. Every one looked down on me, they just didn't see it.

I didn't give up though, I even got inspired to push it further. Sometimes I had no shoes to dance, sometimes I didn't have the best of clothes (a dancer always has to look good) and other times I was going for free shows. I did a lot of free shows just to get myself out there so others can get to know me. I was broke, hungry and loosing weight.

Then I decided to also try uploading my videos online via Instagram, men it wasn't easy, burning a lot of data, searching for Iphone users so I'll make quality videos and taking time to edit them myself. It just wasn't easy at all, I had no manager, no sponsor, nothing.

But I'm glad I didn't stop!!

I'm glad I continued pushing myself to the top. Slowly I started to improve, I started to get more exposure and with that came more connections to well paying shows. Just recently, a woman walked up to me after a performance and begged, like she literally begged to manage me. Like I was dumbfounded!, Like I didn't see any of this coming. Though I'm not at my peak yet, I'm pretty much hopeful that I'll reach there soon. #cotw

Thanks a lot for this question @sugandhaseth

I think that's a great decision that you made. You should stand up for what you really want in your life. And it's even more amazing that even now you are standing upto your decision.

Wow! This is way too touching more than I thought, it is great that you never stop chasing what you like, it was the case with mine, but I guess in my opinion, mine was the reversed

I'm glad I didn't stop too, I keep pushing till the end.
Wow, what do you mean by it was the reverse??..did you stop fighting for what you love??

At times we have to let go for to see a better us

I get what you mean sha

Thank you for understanding me🤸

How is your day going
