This might not be the right place for this post but it's for everyone in this in this hiveblock.
Talking about reward, according to our lives on Earth here so shall our reward will be in heaven. Matt 19;27-30.
Inspite of being a seemingly lonely path, it indeed pays to serve and follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Master. The price of Discipleship might be high, but reward of being a faithful disciple is unquantified. Many our times we lose our focus because we stay attuned more with the cost and burden we bear as disciples than we consider the great rewards that we gain as followers of Christ.
Two kinds of rewards;
- Present-time rewards
- Future-time rewards.
Present time rewards
- Continuous pruning to enhance effectiveness and productivity John 15;2
- Increase and progressive fruitfulness in every area of endeavor John 15:16
- Higher calling and deeper intimacy with God John 15;15
- You become an embodiment of blessings. Matt. 10:42.
Future-time rewards
- Ultimately, eternal life. Matt. 19;29
*Crown of life and righteousness -2Tim 4;8 - Shine as stars for ever - Dan 12;3
In conclusion, our biggest reward is Jesus Christ himself for He is rewarder of them that seek him diligently-Heb. 11;6 if we keep Jesus as our greatest reward and understand that by Him all things consist, then we shall be comfortable that we have made the best of decisions.
This is my little contribution concerning Discipleship, Christ is the only person that can reward us, please let focus on Christ alone this end time.

I might not really be the church person here ,but I must say this is a perfect call to the things of the spirit here on POB.
Thou many might not see reasons to why this type of content should be here just like you said also,but I still believe that we should charged ourselves at times with great content like this and I must say you have really done well.
Getting close to God is very important as it will help in our day to day life and even reshape our under about the things of God.
Their are many rewards attached to doing the things of God ,just like your talked about the present benefit of it and the future one.
Finally let me say it is good to be a good disciple,it pays to serve Jesus
