Newbies Initiative Second Task : Why And How On Hive

Alright here we go, second task for the newbies initiative. We had to watch a video and then answer some questions.

plagiarism.png

We all know why we shouldn't plagiarize, and yet we still have to go over this. Content creators spend a lot of time brainstorming what to write about. Many, like myself, have many different ideas, and we have put pen to paper, but haven't had the time to type it out. Others, spend countless hours researching and getting it all right. Because of that, if you copy others work, you're essentially taking someone else's time and effort. That work they did, is wasted by whomever just copied and pasted. It's not worth it, and it's not worth your reputation either.

source.png

To source an image, what I like to do is to add a subscript under the image. There are many different ways to do it though. Some put it right within the image brackets, others make a reference list at the end. It is important however to source your images, as this can lead to copy right infringement, as many pictures aren't free, and if they are, they still deserve the artists mention.

tagging.png

You ever been in a large room with many people yelling your name? Yeah, that's exactly what it's like when people get tagged over and over. Curators and content creators on this site get enough notifications, they don't need to be tagged in every post. It's considered spamming.

articles1.png

There's a common theme in this article, and that's spamming. Don't post articles numerous times. People will notice and noone wants to see the same thing over and over again. You want people to come back to your blog right? So post something new, something relevant, and if you dont have anything to post at all, that is completely fine!

articles.png

2 - 3 is acceptable. More than that, you are just adding more unneeded traffic to the site. Split it up. If you have that much content, spread it out.

engagement.png

Don't just post articles and not comment on anyone elses. Get your name out by interacting with other users and show that you care. I admit that I have had trouble with this the last couple of weeks, but if you find yourself scrolling through one of those popular social media sites, pressing the like button and commenting, why can't you do that here as well?

posting.png

I knew that there were many communities, but this video definitely shared why it was so important to post in the correct one. There are so many communities that are very specific to topics. You don't want to randomly post in that community if it has nothing to do with anything. You also want to know your crowd. I saw an article published in POB that was about learning a specific language, and the article was downvoted significantly. I read those comments, and what I learned is that it is very important to know the audience you are posting to.

I was just wondering last night where you were man. Life gets ahead of us that’s for sure!

Great stuff, I love the Dino and chalk board look lol. You can hopefully produce some good NFT’s with that thing! Lol

haha! yeah life gets busy but I'm still here!
That Dino is SwayZilla ;) if you look at the NFT art I made for Atexoras pub on this link, you can see Swayilla on the right side in front of the bar. https://ecency.com/hive-178961/@atexoras.pub/atexoras-pub-gathering-restructuring

I'm working on getting NFTs up there. It costs 1 Hive to tokenize them, and me being new, I dont have a lot of Hive to throw around. I already made that mistake when I started playing DCity and realized that every card costs money lol.
