With this week's POBphotocontest contest being insects I thought I'd show you some pictures of the Swallowtail butterfly. When I first saw this splendid insect I thought that it was a Monarch butterfly, they are very similar in color. One sure way to determine this butterfly is the tail that extends from the back of their wings.
The swallowtail butterfly can be found in every continent except the Antarctic. Throughout the early Spring until late Summer, all different wildflowers will decorate the landscape with their colorful flowers. These wildflowers will attract all kinds of butterflies.
At times as many as a dozen or so will show up at the same time.
By pure luck, I had the camera at hand when this Swallowtail landed on @farm-mom's arm.

Those are really some cool shots. They say birds and butterflies are two subjects that are hard to photograph. Yet it seems you don't have any problems with them 😎
