Hello there, how are are you all doing today? I hope you are all doing great?
And so today, I would be talking about my thoughts on free higher education in this century and in my country, which on a norms, it sounds kinda funny and impossible for me; but who I'm I to say that it is something impossible, I always try to believe that there is nothing thinkable that is impossible, I believe, if not a 100%, at least, 90% of a thinking can possibly be established to manifestation...
In our country, we have government secondary schools, in there, they don't pay for school fees, or text books, or practicals (some practicals) they are mostly provided by the government for those people or children who cannot afford to pay for the tuition fee of a private school, which is nice...
So after thinking about what I was going to write about, I thought of it, and I was like a lot of people graduate from this government secondary schools very brilliantly, many of them passes their external exams in flying colours, but then, some of them don't have the money to further for their tertiary education, and I was like, if the government can do this good for secondary school children, why can't they do it for the university students as well?
After thinking about this, so many other things came across my mind to counter that my thoughts...
I thought again that "as well as we have good grades and well behaved students in the government secondary schools, the same way we have bad graded and thug life students in the same government secondary schools".
Some of them don't even know why they went to school, some were forced, some were negatively influenced and then, all these set of people come together and plan to ruin their educational career, therefore doing whatever they like, making sure it's most times contrary to the school's authority...

So I thought, if these kind of people were given a chance for a free tertiary education, how will they utilize it? And as we all know, the higher institution is way more intimidating than the secondary school, I said no! It won't work, it's going to affect business, teachers, and if it affects teachers in the sense that these kind of bad students annoys the teacher or lecturer, the lecturers might not want to take actions, therefore abandoning the whole students, which will now affect the good students, can you see the chain!
I was in a church sometimes ago, and the preaching pastor said something, he said
I cannot give anyone my money to do anything, including schooling, unless the person adds his money as well in what so ever project the person Wants run.
And he told us his reasons, this was his reasons, he said
When something is paid for someone for free, the person it is is paid for, might not know the sweat behind the payment, so there is a chance for the user to use it for anything he likes; but when his own sweat if involved, he minds the way he uses what was paid for, because his hard earned money is involved.
I understood these words and applied it to free higher education, once you are being admitted to the higher institution for free, there are higher chances for dropping out of that school, but this cannot be said of a part-time student, because he knows what he is working for...
Even people that a being sponsored paid the price one way or the other before they won the sponsorship...
In conclusion, I know we like free things,(I'm not exempted, just so you know) but then, there is a cost, and if you are not ready to pay for it, failure is like an unstoppable Porsche with no breaks, it will come invincibly and put you down, because you didn't pay the price...
Nothing is given in a platter of gold, not even heaven.
Thank you all for taking out your time to read through to this point, I'm Indeed grateful, I hope you had the opportunity to leayine or two things; do have a good week...
