Looking for a new BJJ place of training.. New Creation in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii.

Good morning to all you beautiful people. :)

I decided that after about a 20 year break, I would go back to training in martial arts.. more specifically, I will continue my training in Brazillian Jiu-jitsu. 🤼‍♂️ (I also practiced Aikido in HS and college)

I used to train every weekday back when I was attending college at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I was lucky enough to train at Relson Gracie's school.. the Gracie family is pretty much the OG family of Brazilian style of jiu-jitsu. Relson is the oldest brother of that family. (u might know of Royce Gracie who was the winner of many of the early Ultimate Fighting Championship.. defeating foes from all different martial arts, as well as his opponents were often way bigger than he was)

So this school, New Creation, had very good reviews on the yelp listing online. The guy who leads the class also sounded very cool and casual on the phone when I called. There was only one BIG problem..

The classes cost $110 per month and a Gi (uniform) was required.. that would cost another $130. Ummmmm, I'm not a rich man Jenny (as said be Forrest Gump) and I would much rather pay off some credit card debt or maybe buy a few silver coins..

The location was all good.. right across the street from Subway.. about 5 minutes drive from mt house. Still, I think its a bit too expensive for me at this time. Maybe I'll put BJJ on hold for now.. until I have more spending cash as well as I would like, in the future, to start my own grappling school, called Street Grappling which would be a no-gi, more self defense kind of grappling school. :)
