Very interesting and informative post.
Its great to get first hand accounts and I didn't know that consumers were already bing affected so much by price rises.
I've been writing since the start that sanctions can't work against a large country like Russia that supplies so much of the world's essential commodities.
Sanctions hurt both sides according to the benefit they got from the trade in the first place. I think Europe (which produces value added manufactured goods from Russia's commodities) benefited more from the original trade and thus will suffer MORE from sanctions than Russia.
Russia will only be stopped by effective military deterrence.
That is the main problem though - consumers are affected already so much and only 1 week has passed.
What is yet to come? What will be the main talking point 1 or 2 months from now?
The situation really is dramatic, not only conflict-wise, but also economically-wise as well.
And it better be "SWIFT"!
