For the last two months, I haven't gone mushroom hunting anymore because it's impossible to find them in the current dry season. I remember the last time I did a mushroom walk in the Blang Kulam Waterfall area in early March, and as a result, I found nothing there. In fact, the area has an environment that is constantly humid due to the splashing of waterfalls that are blown by the wind for tens of meters. But still, no shrooms appeared in the cracks of the wood or litter scattered on the ground. The extreme heat I think was to blame, that's for sure.
So all I can do to keep on contributing to #FungiFriday is go through old image files on my laptop's hard drive. It's not easy, considering I'm not a perfect person when it comes to tidying up files. What's more, I have to carefully check every mushroom post I've published on Hive, so as not to repost the same photos. I really avoid things that can harm me, even though sometimes it's unintentional. But I hope that never happens.

From searching for old pics on the storage hard disk, I found some photos that I will publish here. Yes, these mushrooms were enshrined around April to May 2022 in the forest park behind the IAIN Malikussaleh campus, Lhokseumawe, Aceh.
The fairy parachutes (Marasmiellus sp.) that looked fresh when they were found were growing on the branches of living trees. This is a tropical mushroom commonly found in the wet forests of Sumatra, Indonesia. It normally doesn't take long, just a day after heavy rains, these mushrooms will appear in clusters on the twigs or branches of the wood.
As far as I'm concerned, the fairy parachute is a non-poisonous type of mushroom, so of course it is edible. I imagine crispy mushroom chips, and of course, that will be your snack companion while working or on vacation at the beach.
It feels longing to go back to taking walks through the forest to find mushrooms, but I don't know how long this drought will pass. Patience and continued to be patient is the key word. Yes, all you have to do is be patient until the rainy season comes.
