Not so long ago I was showing some mushrooms that grew right in the garden next to our house (here is the post if you want to have a look). Well... that wasn't the only shroomsies that I found.
Just 2 metres away there is a big, bery old and almost dead apple tree. The trunk is slowly rotting and it will have to be removed soon. But before that it gives some support to other plants and apparently it is also a home to these little guys :)
Coprinellus micaceus
It appears to be one of the Coprinellus mushrooms. After checking up with google, it could be Coprinellus micaceus which is an edible one if picked early enough.
As they grow older they turn to this black goo.
Is this is same one you found under your cherry tree @soulsdetour? They also died very fast leaving dark patch behind.

No, I did not pull them out. They could get damaged though as I was trying to get some of the leaves out of the way.
And more coming up from the depth of a rotten tree and soil.
They can appear around rotten trees (yep, that apple has to go) from spring till late fall if the conditions are right. And as it was raining quite a bit and it was still quite warm, they were busy growing.
The group was quite large and I surely did not expect to see them there and not in this amount.
One clump next to the other hidden among some weed leaves and grasses.

Bonus shot:
The apple tree is right next to the building and this creature (plus few other alike) was taking a break there. The wall is facing south and the barely-any-sun that day was still enough for them to sit on it and warm up a bit.

OMG, my favorite little guys again! Exactly the same - 'busy growing' and then busy disappearing. Glad to finally know they are edible, although you have to be very quick to catch them in their edible phase. Besides, they're so cute that I wouldn't shorten their already very short lives. ♥️🍄
P.S. I have also observed and photographed the peculiar sight of flies basking in the sun on a wall or on a particular plant, places I call 'fly spa' 😎

A bit similar to coconut fruit as a baby, this group is very beautiful, although hiding their beauty will still look perfectly

It is amazing the way that when fungi flower, they really flower. I like to ponder just how large their mycelium might be.
It is probably very big though I found them under that one tree only. It was the perfect spot for the to pop I guess.
