Hello #FungiFriday community! It's time to add some yummy #mushrooms for @ewkaw . Have you added yours yet? No? There are still a few hours left this Friday.
I had some pictures added here, in my drafts, last week, but it looks like I had no time to write about them. Oh well, there is no better time than now!
First, let me introduce Alfie. He's a cockapoo, one of 3 dogs that belong to my friend. She has 2 females and 1 male and when females come on their period, I often take Alfie to my place, so he's not running after his mum and sister ;)
Well, at least that's how it was before I had to go back to JOB. These days I can't have Alfie at home while I'm at work all day, so he finally got muted last December. He become much more cuddly ever since 😍😁
Last year though, I had a pleasure many times of having him at home with me. I made sure to take him for nice walks to the forest. There are many nice paths for him to run there.

But of course, he's the happiest amongst the dirtiest paths. Look at those flying ears:
Have you ever seen a flying dog? Here is flying Alfie. He sure is a prime example of a dog that is #AliveAndThriving
But hey! Apart from flying dogs I also found some mushrooms of course. Like half eaten Hedgehog mushroom, with pristine spikes.
As well as gorgeous, young Porcini's. If you are wondering why I pick them so small, there are 2 reasons for it. Firstly, I really like them young. The taste is really concentrated and they're simply delicious. Secondly, as you can see on the one to the right, I have a competition from squirrels. The cap is already munched by them. They like them young too 😜
The beef I have with squirrels is that they won't just pick one and eat it all. No, they just munch a little, throw them away and move on to the next one. Some places that I know Porcini's have their mycelia I look for bitten pieces of mushrooms to find more.
Finding Bolete's at a nice size like this is possible, but with those crazy squirrels around, not very likely 😉
Hedgehogs on the other side are not really favourite snacks of squirrels. In some places I found huge fairy circles of those. The only problem is that I can never capture those circles as well as my eyes can see them. When you stand in the middle of those circles, it feels truly magical. Like you're in the centre on the big network, which is quite literal.
Alfie clearly loves them too. Check him out here, with his head tiltled, looking right at me.

Looks like he was temporarily busy elsewhere, as I managed to take a few pictures of beautiful Amanita's.
Little babies are too cute to not stop and capture them.
While older specimens were already munched by those who wanted to get high ;)
I also found a pristine, white puffball amongst some other mushrooms. Technically they're edible, but their taste is so blunt that I stopped picking them. Still lovely for the pictures though.
Then of course Alfie is back, running for another picture. God forbid mushrooms get more attention than Alfie!
Last mushroom I have for you today is this weird rotten fungi. It's not the clearest picture of it, but I'm sure I have many better ones in my old phone. Maybe I'll dig them up for next week.
I never checked what it is, but I also never saw it in a non-rotten state. Very weird mushroom it is.
On our way out of the forest, we walked past this pretty tree. Well, the tree is nice too, but those pretty pink and yellow leaves do not belong to the tree. It's some kind of a climbing plant that decided to attach itself to the tree to make it more colourful ;)
Looks like that day we also caught a pretty, candy sky. Firstly on the way out of the forest:
and later in the neighbourhood.
Finally, we were back home with my treasures.
Those cute, young porcinis get eaten first. They could last a few days in the fridge, but why wait? Sometimes I forget what I have in the fridge and when I next check them, they turn out to be eaten by the worms.
Don't ask me where the worms come from, I swear they don't usually live in my fridge. I guess even one little worm can multiply very fast when they find delicacies like these. So I made sure they landed in my belly as soon as we were back from the walk.

Hello there handsome Alfie 🤩🥰, he looks like having a lot of fun, haha.
Anyways, the forest in there looks to clean and so beautiful. And there's a lot to see. I am seeing lot of unfamiliar mushrooms too.
Oh, I cal Alfie my boyfriend 😍 He’s too cute! When I come to visit my friend, he pushes the 2 females away to get to me first 😂
It’s a beautiful forest sis. These mushrooms are from the other year. There are different ones in different seasons, but there is always something to find 💙

It's amazing that you have many great mushroom finds and some very edible. I can almost smell the aroma of them being cooked!
I'm yet to find something like those around here. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong places, lol!

Haha, if I'm lucky and if the season is right. Usually it's only end of summer and Autumn when I can find edible ones :)
So you also have something that is having a feast... your ones got the mushrooms in the freeze and my plant got bitten by something a few days ago. Strange creatures hahaha
