While hugging the trees...

If someone had told me that I would have a post for the Fungi Friday community this Friday, I wouldn't have believed them. After a little mischief that the cute snowman doll did in last week's post (he drank some wine and ate half of that exclusive mushroom while I was not at home), I am returning to the community today, but with a little less interesting finding.

To make up for that, I am bringing this fungus from a very nice place. From one Botanical Garden located in Malaga. 🌿 If we needed a more precise location inside the Botanical Garden, it was in Ruta de los Miradores - Route of the Viewpoints.

The day was super sunny and even our shadows decided to take this walk with us. All in all, we spent three hours (or a bit more) in this Botanical Garden so I will bring more plants and views from here, however, the highlight of this path was something suitable for #FungiFriday.

It was a narrow path, nothing special in that sense, but here we heard many birds and felt the freshness of nature. There was one birdwatching cottage in the parallel path that was higher than the one we took (the plan was to climb the other path after some time but in the end, we stayed on the Route of the Viewpoints.

The tall pine trees that grew by the path lived peacefully with other subtropical flora and native plants. The autumn colours of the foliage of the huge pine trees were also visible among the greenery of other trees. Sometimes we stopped at the viewpoints and watched the mountains of Malaga

I watched all the time the tops of tall trees and forgot to look around at the ground. I didn't even think about looking for mushrooms; I wasn't expecting them...

But then my husband noticed this tree and asked me if I would like to hug it because it looked awesome - with a hint that I should be careful because I could slip down; the ground was steep. Mission accomplished - we can see that I hugged the tree carefully and that I didn't fall as I am writing this post. From the angle from where he took this picture, he saw that one of the trees behind the tree I hugged had fungus.

Thanks to him I turned around and found the little surprise.

I would not be able to identify the type of this fungi. Maybe something like Fungus Velvetus? 😂

It looked as if it was covered in a velvet cloak, light brown in colour and dark green - which might have been mould.

This is probably not the most interesting type of fungus, still, it was cool to see it this morning (I behaved and didn't touch it). And I can draw one conclusion from this event: Even when you are distracted by tall trees and views, there are hopes of finding mushrooms - just and exclusively in cases when you hug trees! 🤗 😆

Fungus Velvetus it is! :D

I like all those tree bent in different directions. They all look like they need a hug to be honest ;)

Yay, I identified it correctly 😁

Hugging the trees is great, both for them and us 🌳 ;))

You made a new discovery of fungus ma'am.😄 Another name that not familiar to the others.😄😄

Gonna try to hug trees to see a fungus ma'am.😀 Hehehe, Happy New year and have a nice day ahead ma'am.😊

Maybe it is indeed the recipe to see mushrooms - just hugging the trees ;D

Thank you, and happy New Year to you too ☺️

Hahaha.. true.😊😊

Wow, that's beautiful, I can see Vanessa Martin is not the only wonder Malaga has, guess a walk like that one can feed up spirit properly being in direct contact with such wonderful natural views and breathing fresh air. Greetings.

Yes, it seems that Malaga has many wonders, history, culture, art, nature and that singer too :)

Between the trip and the unforeseen events that I had... I can only read a lot of posts... sorry!

I can't believe it... you were in my paradise!!!! Every time I travel there I feel like I'm in a fairy tale!!!! It's far away but I take the time to go there about twice a year. How cool are the mushrooms!😃

No worries Amonet! The Botanical garden is awesome, we walked for three hours non-stop. My right foot hurt the very next day and my knees too hahaha. Apparently, there is a show kind of thing in the evening, with Christmas lights and all and the entrance for that was 15 euros! Well, we went during the day 😅
Alquilamos al final un estudio en Ciudad Jardín, estuvimos cerca de este paraíso ;)

This year I couldn't go to that show or the western park show, but next year I will be better prepared hahaha.

I am sure it was a pleasant hug. Your new search Velvetus looks very nice, walking in wonderful nature wow you made it. Have a nice weekend :)

Later I was hugging other trees as well, and placing my hands to the trees, "listening" to them through my hand. It was cool :)

Thank you, and have a great start to the week, as I am late for wishing you a nice weekend, it already passed by now! 😅

While hugging the tree, maybe that tree wants you to turn around to see the surprise. 😄 Thanks to that big hug.

The tree and the mushroom agreed in that before I arrived there 😂

Hi. I enjoyed your visit to the botanical garden. I like trees and wild animals. Good thing you didn't touch the mushrooms 🍄‍🟫. Some can be poisonous. Even if they look pretty. If I may I will continue to read about your mushroom encounters on Fridays. Thanks for sharing.

Hello @juliom

Thank you for your company, I am sure you and your family would love this botanical garden as you like nature and being surrounded by it. Greetings 🌳

My first stop would be at the bird watching hut hahaha I'm going all in 😂

You look very adorable hugging the tree 😍 but be very careful that the little snowman doll doesn't see that fungus, you have to watch her because she is dangerous with what she eats and drinks 😂

Moraleja, abrazar mas arboles para descubrir la riqueza honguera 😎

You wouldn't miss out the bird watching little house, I am sure about it 😉

The snowman doll is behaving well now, he is waiting for the Reyes Magos

La moraleja - spot on 👌

The tree looks big and it's nice to hug it. 😁. Stay healthy my brother and have a nice trip.

Yes, it is a good feeling to hug the trees

Have a nice day.🤝
