The cover illustrations printed nicely, they almost remind me of velvet paintings.

I'll have to try and keep this away from my daughter's crayons lol. She already wanted to grab it and start scribbling in it.

There is useful information in here too i.e. how to make a spore print. This is essential for identifying tricky mushrooms. I always spore print my winter mushrooms to ensure they aren't deadly galerina.

There are even a few blank pages here to place your mushroom caps on. This will work for most mushrooms that don't have a white spore print. But if you need to check white spore print mushrooms then you can always place them on the black part of the cover of the book.

Here is an example of the illustrations inside. I usually ignore the second bullet point on the right lol, sneaking into where ever I can find the best mushrooms...

This checklist is handy too for a beginner forager. So far I have found almost all of these except for the Blue Chanterelle.

The quotes are nice too, I never knew many of these quotes about mushrooms.

If there is ever a second edition I would add a couple more pages about what mushrooms to avoid. It could lead to some interesting quotes and potentially spooky illustrations. I suspect a deathcap or a satan's bolete next to a skull and crossbones could be helpful for reckless noobs who forage for mushrooms.

On demand printing is quite fast with Amazon. They had already printed it the same day I ordered it. There must be printers all over the country for speed of logistics.

Overall I recommend you get this nice journal for your mushroom foray notes.

Thanks @riverflows :-) you should see my review on amazon once they approve it.

That is a very cool looking journal!

The trick will be keeping my daughter's crayons away from it lol.

Oh, but it is asking to be coloured :D

I suspect it will eventually be found and colored on lol.

reckless noobs who forage

without permission! 😉

Haha that would be me lol.

It is very cool that I could read this post, this book, or the @riverflows journal before I started generating ideas about making prints.
Thanks for this info. I will go through the @riverflows journal. :)

Thanks for looking :-)
