Yeah its always sad finding good mushrooms past their prime. Little puffballs are good as toppings to pizza though I usually cook them separately with olive oil and spices too keep them from drying out.

I actually very rarely pick them at all. I find they don’t have much of a flavour, but I suppose I should, just cause they’re healthy 😁
The yellow chants here have a good flavor also the black trumpet versions are even more tasty.
Not sure if I’ve seen any of these around here. If I did, I probably wouldn’t know 😉
