Wow that's an interesting find, it is definitely a type of puffball mushroom and probably edible if it is still solid white on the inside. Do you know the common name of this mushroom in this area?

@sketch.and.jam I've looked for references via Google Lens but unfortunately I couldn't find the right reference.
It could have a more normal shape but maybe it rained then dried and it rained again to make it form that way. I suspect it is this mushroomm Calvatia rugosa https://naturdata.com/especie/Calvatia-rugosa/24462/0/
