FUNGI FRIDAY || THE FIRST TIME I FOUND A HAIRY MUSHROOM

in FungiFridaylast year (edited)

This is my post contribution for #FungiFriday curated by @ewkaw

Good night and welcome to see you again on this happy evening. So tonight I want to share several mushroom objects, one of which is very unique and I have never encountered it in my life.

1. SPINELLUS FUSIGER

IMG_20231207_155825.jpg

Spinellus fusiger is a long-haired fungus with white hair. This mushroom grows on old tree branches and grows by itself without any friends accompanying it. This mushroom is the same as other white mushrooms, but the only difference is its hair. The hair growth pattern is straight but irregular, when I saw his hair from a close distance the hair grew in gaps or pores on his head. This mushroom has a black stem and an orange to whitish head.

The height of this mushroom is around 1.5 cm with the width of the head being around 2.5 cm while the length of the hair is more than the length of the mushroom.

2. CYPTOTRAMA CHRYSOPEPLA

The Cyptotrama chrysopepla mushroom is a yellow mushroom, in my area people often call it the orange peel mushroom, the name is based on its color and head which is almost similar to orange peel. These mushrooms grow on old tree branches, in my picture they are from the same species but just different ages. I found these mushrooms behind my house during the rainy season, they grow very much on tree branches but they only grow one in one container.

This mushroom has a completely yellow color, but when it is young, this mushroom has a slightly transparent stem color. As it gets older, the mushroom head gets bigger and the transparent color of the stem changes to yellow. This mushroom grows to a maximum height of 2.5 cm while the head is 2.4 cm wide.

3. PEZIZACEAE

In my area, people call this mushroom a name that is very different from other mushrooms. The name of this mushroom comes from lay people who call it the glass mushroom even though its similarity to glass is very different. This mushroom has holes in its petals, which are useful for collecting rainwater for growth, while the hairs have a function for filtering so that the water that enters the mushroom hole is clean. The bigger the mushroom, the deeper the hole has the potential to be.

This mushroom grows on very tough trees and grows very much, but I only chose a few that were still fresh to use as photography objects, while the others were almost dead, so I cleaned them and only took a few that were still perfect. You can judge the size of the mushroom from the picture in my hand.
