Hola hivers fanáticos de los hongos 🍄, hoy les vengo ha enseñar la belleza que crece en mi patio👨🌾 y ayuda a mantener el ecosistema del mismo, hoy veremos el Clathrus Ruber🔴.

As usual, I was picking the fruits🍐 that I grow in my garden when I noticed a speckled sphere among the leaves🍃 that looked like a watermelon. As I got closer, a powerful foul smell🤢 reached me, making me think it was a rotting fruit. When I went to remove the supposed rotting fruit, I realized👀 that it was not a fruit at all but a fungus, as I could see its roots.
Como de costumbre estaba recogiendo las frutas🍐 que cultivo en mi jardín cuando noté entre las hojas🍃 una esfera moteada que parecía una sandía, al acercarme un poderoso olor fétido🤢 llegó hasta mi haciéndome pensar que era una fruta en descomposición. Cuando fui a remover la supuesta fruta descompuesta me pude percatar👀 que no se trataba de ninguna fruta sino de un hongo pues pude observar sus raíces.
After doing a bit of research🔍, I was able to identify the new member of my garden, none other than Clathrus Ruber or red cage fungus🍄, a fungus from the Phallaceae family of the saprophytic species. I didn’t try to eat it🍽️, but although it is not a poisonous fungus☠️, the smell it emits takes away your appetite. This smell is its reproduction mechanism because when an insect🦟 approaches, attracted by the foul odor, it carries the spores with it and plants the next generation of this fungus.
Al investigar🔍 un poco pude constatar quien era el nuevo integrante de mi jardín, nada más ni nada menos que Clathrus Ruber o hongo jaula roja🍄, un hongo de la familia Phallaceae de la especie saprofita, no intenté comerlo🍽️ pero aunque si bien no es un hongo venenoso☠️ el olor que emana te quita el apetito, este olor es su mecanismo de reproducción pues cuando el insecto🦟 se acerca en busca del olor fétido se lleva consigo las esporas y siembra la siguiente generación de este hongo.
This is the volva of the fungus🍄, it is spread throughout my garden and I just noticed it😄. The Clathrus Ruber emerges from this gelatinous egg-shaped sphere🥚. The extremely beneficial main function of this friend is to decompose organic matter.
Esta es la volva del hongo🍄, está disperso por todo mi jardín y hasta ahora lo noté😄, el clathrus ruber sale de esta esfera de interior gelatinoso con forma de huevo🥚. La función principal en extremo beneficiosa de este amigo es descomponer la materia orgánica.
