You might think that an herbalist is a good grower of her favorite herb but ... no! This year I have had terrible luck with my cannabis plants. And many of the "girls" featured in my previous posts ended up turning male or hermaphrodite. I am so sad that my prospective harvest has gone from six plants to three but ... that is life on the farm, isn't it?
Now, let us go check on the girls;
My three cannabis plants are tucked away in the garden just in case the owner of this land comes by. I am alright with this arrangement because it also means that my plants are safe from the blasts of wind we get here in the valley.
Every day I walk out to the garden to check on the girls. And even though I have grown cannabis plants for a few years now, I am still far from proficient. In fact, I have had a lot of bad luck this year. Nearly all of the plants I started turned out male. Then I bought two plants from a local guy ... and both of them turned out to be hermaphrodites. Next year spring I am going to invest in feminized seeds when I head up to the states.
This year though, I am happy to say I do have three females that seem to be doing well and are in flower at the moment. One is a medium sized plant and the other two are quite small. But, that is alright! My man & I will have to make the most of our harvest and will certainly enjoy the buds that result.
Now that they are in flower I am making sure to water as often as needed and also fertilize with a solution meant for flowering. Also, I am checking frequently for any sign of male flowers or hermaphrodite features. I try to remind myself to be in a good mood when I check on them, send them "positive vibes" instead of simply stopping by to make sure they are growing as I want to. Once harvested and dried these plants give me so much inspiration and happiness. So it is really important to give them that same vibe when I tend to them.
