Hi all,
I got impatient and swapped my light from the 200w MH with hood to the 600w HPS in the cool tube, a task I thought would be easy!
After swapping the light fixtures I realised I had the wrong power connector! I had to go hunting for screwdrivers and swap the power lead from the hood to the tube then the bulb mount wouldn't go back in the tube and had to manhandle it - ie bash it till it went in! 😭
My hope is to raise the temperature in the tent as I think this is what is stunting my growth.
I gave them a dose of silicate, I would have preferred to wait a few more days but figured I'd do it while I'm in the tent anyway.
I've had to use my silver duct tape to secure the ducting as I don't have clamps. The section of ducting I have was too short so it's pulling the tube in a funny angle, hopefully they'll have a grow spurt and I can raise the light allowing the tube to straighten out a bit but it's not a big deal.
I'd forgotten that the HPS light makes for terrible photos 🤣
I might try rearranging the tent bars so I can lower the light a few more inches.
I'm going to give them another week or so in veg then flick over to 12/12
I might pick up a few power leads so I can have all the equipment run on a standardised connectors but I don't need to worry about it for a few months, though I'd love to get the ballast and chair out of the tent!
I'm in two minds if I should use the SCROG net, with the silicate I shouldn't need it but I would like to develop the canopy, the stems are sturdy as anything, I'm not sure how easily they'll bend
