Hello fellow Smokers and Growers, Gardeners and casual Readers of my blog!
Planting the germinated seeds in the ground, I could not have imagined how severe surprises the weather would bring me.
There were great sunny days when I planted my seeds and the temperature sometimes reached 30 degrees Celsius.... What was my surprise to see frost on the soil in the morning.
When I went out to the vegetable garden I was horrified to find what had happened:
The first thing that caught my eye was the wilted shoots of the planted potatoes due to frostbite.
A small walnut tree was growing nearby, waiting to be transplanted, and it too looked dismal. Absolutely all the leaves on small and medium-sized trees wilted and later dried up completely.
The big trees suffered the least, their crown frostbitten only on one side and only the outer edge of the outermost leaf.
The grapes suffered only the tastiest dessert grapes, the tart wine varieties survived the frost the easiest.
I also discovered later that almost all the plum fruit ovaries on our trees had frozen, which meant that there was no abundance of tasty compotes. The silk trees also lost their entire crowns.
Of course immediately after inspecting the fruit and vegetable losses, I rushed to make sure that the jar is indeed a reliable protection for young marijuana shoots and in terms of the number of plants I did not suffer losses.
The very edge of the foliage on autoflowering varieties is slightly affected by frost and looks dried up after a couple of days, but in general, the plant feels good despite the stress
Since the moment of planting in the open ground my plants had time to grow up well
The leaves rapidly reach for the light because the glass jar filters some of the UV light needed by the plant. Therefore, every morning, when the sun starts to warm up the air enough, I take the jar off until evening, letting my plants out for a walk
The vigorously raised foliage tells me of a properly formed root system, now able to provide rapid growth toward the sun. And in general, it indicates the good health and mood of the cannabis bush
The last plant in this plantation is the only regular among the autoflowers and some differences are already noticeable. It has more spreading foliage and is not so upward-looking.
I sprinkled a little soil into the hole when watering it today so that the young plant would not be damaged by today's windy day.
Tatar Rocket fem.
But wild ruderalis, grown naturally, not only overtakes cultivated varieties of plants in size, but also in its development has managed to reach the flowering stage)))))
To my surprise the frost did not affect the wild cannabis in any way. This leads me to think about the need to experiment with winter planting of seeds. To plant them under a jar in the same way, but from late fall, so that with the first successful weather circumstances in the spring they immediately sprouted under the jar as it happens in natural conditions in nature
While my plants are still small and not photogenic, I thought I'd show you the flowers of the male wild cannabis plants on my property
There's a kind of magical beauty to this plant after all!
Let it bloom, I thought, as long as it doesn't bother anyone.

what will you do with those males?
I only take pictures of them))))
Just wondering, I aim to get my plants out as early as possible, but the wild plants have already started blooming...
Those are some tuff plants!
Let's see the result first!
Thank you
my compassion towards the frost damaged trees and plants :}
have you tried those wild canna plants? i mean to smoke, eat, juice them...
to my look they look not completely savage, maybe got pollinated somehow in the years back?!
I haven't vanquished last year's crop yet, but there may come a time when I'll try cooking something edible from these weeds. They're still very young
nice! ;)
