Disclaimer:
This post is about medical/recreational cannabis.
I recommend you don't use it.
It could be illegal in your country.
Be careful!
Growth
Just by looking at it, I thought that not much had changed since last update.
But looking back and comparing pictures, I can now see that within the 3 days, the flowers increased density by a lot.
This #grow-diary is really helpful, actually.
The Quickness
It feels much longer, but this pictures is from only 25 days ago:
25 days (!!!!1)
Legalization
Now that the update is out of the way, let's talk about the legal limitations.
Until April this year, those plants were 100% illegal here in Germany.
The legalization was decided upon by the red-green-yellow government.
In 1998, 26 years ago, the green and red party of Germany, took over the government.
That was the first time the green party made it into government.
At the time, cannabis legalization was point no. 5 of their party program.
And they never even brought it up again, once they were in power.
why now?
They did not even bring it up the first time they formed the government.
But this legislation period they succesfully voted on it.
Why now?
The only difference I can see:
Now, we have a big medical cannabis industry in countries around us.
Mostly in Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
the law is silly
They legalized possession of up to 50g of dried cannabis flower.
At the same time, selling it is still very illegal.
Production is still illegal.*
How is that supposed to work?
* social clubs are meant to produce some, but the law makes it nearly impossible and the social clubs are forming, but haven't produced anything yet, as far as I am aware.
medical cannabis
An important piece of the puzzle, which was never communitcated to the public, is that they also changed how medical cannabis works.
You can now get a medical exemption from almost all laws very easily, too.
You can do that online, for 50€, and get the exemption within 1-3 days.
Then you can order cannabis online to the pharmacy of your choice.
There are already web-portals to buy this stuff online.
For very competitive prices, too.
cui bono?
(to) whose benefit?
Germans can not produce it at scale. That's illegal.
So the supply comes from Switzerland, Czech Republic and other places.
They are making bank right now.
Their industry around this is booming and it's in the hands of a few big companies.
...I think the reasons are clear now...
TL;DR:
Big companies, from outside the country, greased the wheels.
The law is like it is, so Swiss companies can make $$$ and establish themselves, while the Germans can just look from the sidelines.
It's simply corruption.
...like almost everything that is going on with this government. And the governments before it. Just the 'donors' are different now.
Too many positions in too many seats. The legislators have financial interests in the corporate seats they hold, and the home grower gets to deal with the nonsensical legislations specifically engineered to keep us down and push corporate franchise to the power position. Most consumers won't partake in the debate because they are happy as long as they can get a nug to smoke, regardless of where it comes from, majority anyway.. Many consumers these days give the corporate conglomerate of big cannabis a good long hard suck on their knees.. in a idolization kind of way...
The density increase over the past few days is indeed very noticeable, and the stacking profile is attractive and impressive. Great work and attentiveness on your grow.
Wow, my friend! I'm surprised to see that growth in 25 days, in the past it also happened to me not believing that they were changing a lot and being surprised thanks to having pictures of a few days before. It is pure beauty to see them grow.
For the informative data of the situation in your country in terms of legality or illegality, it is corruption all over the world, for example, in Argentina has been regulated its consumption and sale through clubs, but doctors do not prescribe it at all, so you must pay a private doctor to issue this prescription, almost like something illegal, unregulated. There is not in any politician a thinking person or with a clear objective on this issue, I think no one wants to be of help and will only seek to benefit. Anyway, it is good to know what you tell us, because here the news only say that in Germany it is now legal and that's it.
Hey, thanks for the thoughtful comment!
Didn't even know that it wasn't totally illegal in Argentina.
Of course, it is too bureaucratic. They are supposed to regulate medicinal consumption, but since it is only a business, even recreational users pay a doctor and under that concept, they made it commonplace. You just have to pay the doctor, the club, the government for the credential, in short, pure business. But well, it's simplified a little bit for those who have the money.
Here in Virginia the laws are a bit of mess too.
We can grow. Can give it away to friends but cannot sell it.
Oh, I can't give it away, at all.
Illegal.
Weird. This reminds me of the Marijuana Tax act here in the us in the early 1920’s. You had to posses certain paperwork to be legal, but the only way you could attain it was by possessing the cannabis, which was illegal to do so without your tax stamp!
bro in argentina have plants in your house is totally legal, you can have until 7 plants; here is a user called tucas whos has more than 20 is like a farmer but he must take care from the f.... stealers with guns
Maybe I should move to Argentina.
...and buy a gun...
