Things have gone south once again for my cannabis seedlings. Two of the four were males and the two others became stunted once again. Drastic measures need to be taken for my next grow, as I feel the soil even amended is no good. So I have bought some new soil that is known for growing good cannabis plants and going to give that a try. A more “premium” soil will be new to me, as the nicest I have had in the past was miracle grow.
I am a little confused on what exactly is wrong with my old soil, I added the nutrients.. and PH tested their water and its all in check. And after my recent failure I amended the soil with half of a good seed starting mix. Things were going better until around week 3 again where growth stopped, yellowing and black starting showing up. And about a week later they were wilting.
A week before... The black tips of the leaves were not a good sign, one of the first something was going wrong.
I have been feeding them a plant tea which should have what they need for seedlings. And I was being careful not to over water them.. only giving them a tiny bit every 6 or so days.
This change in their health was quite surprising as they were putting on vigorous growth for the first few weeks.
The one I topped at its third node also started yellowing shortly after and its new growth stopped developing.
And then I found a second male plant, I am going to avoid getting more "regular" seeds and focus on feminized. As it can be quite annoying dealing with the males.
Though I am pretty sure the one I topped is a female, it should have kept growing and not just started turning yellow like it was.
We can see where it was cut, and new leaves formed but then stalled all growth.
Around a week later one of the seedlings that was going to be topped soon stopped growing and withered.
So at this point I decided to remove what was left and start over, but with all new soil.
Along with Happy Frog, I used Ocean Forest at the bottom of the pots.
And a few days later my new seedlings are growing now.
So small, yet I hope they will grow into something big.
Three of the four pots now have germinated seedlings. One pot is lagging behind, may start a new seed soon to replace that pot.
I think this time I am not going to top them, since these are all the same strain now and autos. I think they will stay quite small.. Well I have never had a successful auto crop so time will tell.
As for the old dirt, I bagged it up. Not sure what I am going to do with it. Seems like some plants do not mind growing in it. While others like the cannabis is quite picky about it. So I may add it to my garden beds outside.
I'm also shocked about the growth of the plants. I didn't know that it could be turned out like this. I hope you can be successful this time.😊
Maybe it's too much water my friend, I don't know much about marijuana plants, but usually if the plant has too much water it can turn yellow, and another thing my friend, maybe there's too much fertilizer. I don't really know either, but that's what I know about plants, so I apologize if there's anything wrong. My brother, ❤️
Good evening my brother.
I also don't understand why your old soil can make your plants wilt, some even turn yellow, but buying new soil is the right choice.
Hopefully with the new soil your marijuana plants can grow well and healthily. Greetings♥️🙏
I'm very sorry about what happened with your cannabis plantation, I hope that everything is going well with this new soil that you have acquired
I hope that with the feminized seeds you don't have any more male plants
I hope that you can give the soil that you have discarded another use
Have a great day, dear friend @solominer
I can't believe this is happening to you. Ever since I can remember, this is the first time you've lost the entire plantation.
I hope that with the addition of the new soil everything goes well.
@solominer
I wish you much success.
In every region, it is used as a drug and as a treatment. What are these plants for?
Greetings brother, good luck with everything you do regarding cultivation, as always everything well detailed and argued, always outstanding for me is your publications.
I use the same type of bags for growing tomatoes, these bags tend to dry out outside quite quickly compared to other growing containers. Are you sure that you have enough moisture for your cannabis plants?
I am now a Hive witness and would really appreciate your vote.
Good luck with the new soil, that has to be the problem, unless there is something in the air, lol. I have been battling sooty mold, fungus, and lichens on my plants.
Yesterday I repotted one of my favorite plants, a double Rose of Sharon. The old soil had broken down and stayed wet. I took half of it out and mixed Miracle Grow with the old. I hope I did not screw up, after reading your experience, I should have used new soil. I will keep an eye on it.

That's a real bummer about the last seedlings man, but I feel confident you'll see great results with that happy frog. All of my trials with it produced good results for seedlings. Best wishes on this round, looking good so far!
poor little plants.. but I hope they grow nicely for u now. 👊😉😎🤙
Growing cannabis can be such a trial-and-error process, and it’s frustrating when things don’t go as planned. It sounds like you did everything right with the nutrients and pH, so it’s strange that the old soil still gave you trouble. Hopefully, the switch to Happy Frog and Ocean Forest makes a difference! 🌱💪 It’s good to hear the new seedlings are sprouting—fingers crossed for a healthy grow this time! Are you planning on sticking with autos for now, or will you try photos again in the future?
