Hive is a lot of things to many people, but for me, it is part of my online productivity pack. I mean, there's so much going on on Hive that one's valuable time should not be wasted or underappreciated. During my onboarding era, the first thing that my onboarder made me understand was how Hive is tied to the value of time and productivity, such that every second spent on the Blockchain brings rewards, not just financial rewards but intellectual rewards too.
For me, being on Hive, there's so much to learn and so many people to meet and get accustomed to. Hive has even helped me intellectually in my other online jobs and this is the reason why it's my favourite online activities. And even though one is not making a post; they are interactive via the comment section, building connections, getting informed, and strengthening ties.
Away from hive, it's not news that in these past years, online jobs is seen as the new gold mine. Infact just today, I discovered that there are teachers from Nigeria now tutoring other Nigerian children abroad via Zoom call and Google meet. We could say that online jobs are now serious business. So how does one achieve productivity on these jobs? To answer this, I'll share some of my hacks that have aided me so far to staying productive online:
Outline your intentions: Your intentions in this case are daily achievable goals. I'm not much of the jotting kind, so I just make a mental note of all that I aim to achieve. This practice of mine, which acts as a guide, navigates my online dealings effectively, whether it's work-related, learning, or personal interactions.
Time management: I have since discovered that our inability to effectively allocate time in our day-to-day activities sets us up for failure because time is planning, and lack of planning will only lead to failure and doing things haphazardly. The app RescueTime does it for me; it not only aids in tracking how I spend my time but also makes me knowledgeable about how I'm most likely to do my best each day when it comes to executing tasks. With effective time management, I'm able to balance my work life, such that my time is effectively managed and allocated.
Minimize distractions: If you are like me and easily gets distracted, turn off notifications and befriend DND. This has helped me remain focused and give my full attention to whatever I am doing at the time on my phone or desktop.
Prioritize tasks: When taking up task, I focus on high-priority tasks first and then break them down into manageable chunks. These has assisted me a lot in beating targets with several online jobs especially those that requires express delivery.
Take breaks: One can never go wrong with a little stretch break. For me I go on walks when my mind is becoming clustered. It help me to recharge, relax and avoid burnout.
Stay organized: This is where folders becomes your best friend. I usually keep my digital files organized by putting them in a folder. It makes it easier to assess when the need arises. Easy work flow equates improved productivity.
Reduce multitasking: A good time to remind us that a jack of all trade is a master of none and multi tasking will only lead to unnecessary pressure. Personally I can only deal with so little at a time and in order to be optimally productive, I focus on one task at a time to maintain quality and efficiency.
Stay hydrated and energized: Again, water is your friend. So drink plenty of water and eat nutritious snacks plus coffee to maintain your energy levels and alertness while on screen.
Create boundaries: There is time for everything. To avoid being overwhelmed, I make sure my family and friends understand the aforementioned words. Thus, I set clear boundaries with family, friends, or colleagues to protect my online worktime. That I'm online working doesn't mean that I'm available for quick chats or errands.
Continuous learning and improvement: The fact that people keep innovating and life waits for no one is why I'm regularly updating my skills, knowledge, and tools to stay productive and efficient with online trends.
Practice self-care: Too much of everything is bad and moderation is key. Once in a while, I disconnect from the internet and taje breaks from excessive screentime to prevent eye pressure. I also exercise, and engage in activities that promote mental and physical well-being so that I can always be proactive and be at the top of my game.
By implementing these strategies, I have since become better equipped to move with online innovations and trends. It has also aid me in staying productive online and achieving my goals.
