A HECTIC COURIER SERVICE EXPERIENCE

Except that one time when a rider from the bolt I ordered kept going on and on yapping and talking, I've not had a bad ride experience. Striking conversations isn't bad but for me, who just likes some peace and quiet, it was a lot. Plus, he was almost prying. So it was a no-no.

But with courier service? Oh, I have had smooth experiences and a nasty one. Just one very tiring, annoying experience. This happened last year. So I placed an order for something. Actually, my brother placed the order for it but it was to be delivered to me from Abuja.

As is the norm, the sender of the package sent the driver's number to me. Said to call him and all that.

I called the man, the driver, he said he was on his way, and he'd call me once he was in the state so I'd just come pick up at one of their park's branch. That was fine.

Hours later, towards evening, he called and said he was in the state and close by the park, so I should begin going there. I got ready and left. I had boarded the second vehicle and was approaching the park when he called again and asked where I was. I told him. Guess what? He said that that wasn't the park I was supposed to go to. That I should go over to another branch of the park which was in the opposite direction and being almost at the outskirts of town, could pass for a journey. I was pissed. I had spent over forty minutes going to this park plus the money spent, only to hear that.

I mentioned to him that my registered pick-up point was this other location, but he said he forgot to drop it there blah blah blah. Kai! I had no option. I had to make the trip that cost three times the first one, arriving there at past six in the evening. Another thing was then even demanding shopkeeping fees for something that hadn't been there for less than three hours. E pain me!

The back and forth that day, even at their office, was crazy. The rudeness of those people, from driver to shop keeping staff, had got to be the most annoying of everything. They know zilch about customer relations.
And boy, this narration doesn't come close to the actual experience. Truly.

So it’s everywhere. I wonder why these people are so rude when in the end, they’ll still take your money. It’s not for free so why are you giving me attitude?
