DIGITAL HISTORY ON A TIME CAPSULE

I would often see and/or hear something from way back in time when I was still younger and I'd be in amazement at how far things have gone, particularly how they have become things of the past and I did not even realize it.

Twenty, fifty years from now, so much of what we have and have experienced will go extinct and be crude to younger people of the time.

Every now and then, there's this statement about 'gen-z/ indomie genetation' not knowing this, not experiencing that and all of that. It always humors me cause I belong to the class of people who shake their heads when I listen to some old songs, and then i say, "they don't make good songs as this anymore." To think that a number of these songs were released when I was less than five years of age and even yet unborn. I'm that old skool... yeah! I belong to the class of the few young people who identify with 'the old.'

Right now and thus far, I feel like everything on my device represents just enough time capsule that I would wish to keep for as long as fifty years and show out. A peek into my phone, and you'll realize that it's nothing much, and it might be insignificant to you.

Like, my Playlist. Most songs there are old. As I switch phones, I take them along. Oh, you sure don't want to know what I listen to. There's barely any song in the rave now there. Mostly oldies. It still surprises me that I listen to songs I used to detest when I was a kid(all of them Fela, Osadebe, and the rest highlife). Plus, some others I've taken along as I grew older, which mostly tell me a story of a time in my life and/or just appeal to my taste.

Right now, I don't do social media, and the only online page I have is a desert. So they'd find nothing there. Except on Hive. I'd want them to see the platform I tried and was somewhat active in. To read through my writings and just learn my opinions and see perspectives through my writings.

Of course, picture and video memories would be a part of it. It's also important that they get to see through every phase of my life and can picture what the moments captured through my lens were like. It should help them appreciate growth and evolution all-round.

Finally, access to my digital time capsule means access to my routine/schedule, personal diary, my lists through time, my plans, my goals(achieved or not), and my finance logbook. My e-bokks, too. I don't know what it'd do for them, but I guess they should see it.

There! This is everything I think I'd want in a time capsule saved up for fifty years time.

Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!
