TVs - THEN AND NOW

I don't remember seeing much of black and white Tvs growing up. It was/is a blur for me now, thinking about it. One minute, it was there, and the next, thete was something more appealing.

I don't think I have much of a story to tell, either since I don't remember much. I know we always had a TV. Oh, I'm starting to recall. Our evenings were characterized by us eating and watching soap operas. We had tv stations as STV, RSTV, NTA, AIT, and some others, but these were like the major ones.

We would come together to see shows as Papa Ajasco, Fuji House of Commotion, Superstory, and the likes, which were very interesting and were appropriate for people of all ages. Occasionally, we saw the network news for 8pm and 10pm because my parents liked to. Then there were the wrestling matches that my parents were(still are) obsessed with. I used to like them back then, I don't know why I feel differently now. It used to be so much fun back then. We cherished those moments and looked forward to our favorite programs(almost every home did, too).

And I did see a lot of movies on our DVD player. I didn't, and frankly, I couldn't have fought for the tv remote. I am the youngest of six siblings. My brothers(especially the eldest) held forte over the remote, but it was beneficial to us all as his taste for movies and shows was similar to all of ours. His taste for movies pans over different genres and regional peoduction. So, aside from football, I don't remember them playing something on tv that I didn't like. After all, I didn't care for cartoons.

Home videos were one of our finest. We had an endless supply of every film that hit the market, particularly Nollywood, karate, and Hollywood kinds. And yes, comedy cassettes were never a rarity. Do you recall 'nite of a thousand laff' and the rest? It's been a while!!!

Then came the decoder, and our DVD was relegated and used on special occasions that weren't special anyway(if you get what I mean). Decoders were a game changer and seemed to have everything we wanted.

And now? There's smart Tvs. And it just gets better. Who knows what might come next. We'll see.

Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!
