Time is the most essential commodity when it comes to keeping my digital life in check, as a student finding balance in a very chaotic world can be very demanding and tasking.
From having to organize PDFs to social media and email and everything when it comes to my life as far as technology is involved, I can't specifically say I have a well-organized digital life, but I try my best to move with the flow, and sometimes I just try to create some order to avoid being lost in the flow because without order, chaos is inevitable.
Proper planning, they say, prevents poor performance, so as far as my devices are concerned, I try to organize everything from having folders for school stuff to having folders for music and videos on my devices, and these I have also extended to my social media; for example, I have folders on my YouTube where I save content that I find valuable, from relationship stuff to education and events, as far as I consider them valuable.
I am not exactly picture perfect when it comes to the digital space, like I said earlier, because I have found out that even when I set my mind to do something like watch a video from the course I am taking currently or deciding to write a post here on Hive, I end up doing nothing about it, and the reason is not far-fetched. So when I plan my day, I take the extra step to write down what I want to achieve in a day, especially when it comes to my digital spaces. Even though a time frame isn't attached, it helps me to keep things in check. The few times I have done this, I discovered I have been able to achieve more than just having a mental picture of what I want to do.
Every one of us has our flaws when it comes to the digital space, from watching random comedy videos to following the latest music trends and celebrity gossip and all kinds of distractions that come with it, but it is your sole responsibility and mine to find a balance in order to be more efficient and productive because we are all products of our actions.
