Being Online and Productive

The online world is a busy one. Much busy that if you do consider the bustling of the physical world more busy than it, then it can be said that you may not have really been caught up in the online world. With this, almost all the age groups seem to not be left out of. Everyone with a device and internet connection could be lost from this world and found in the online world. It's a highly busy and engaging world in there that one can easily lose track of time and some necessary engagements as well.

With such an impending effect, one thing is sure—productivity suffers. Yes, that's a true reality. While many use the online space for educative, commercial, developmental purposes—using it to improve and better their lives, many also carving out a seemingly work space for themselves, others find it a hub of entertainment only. Through jumping from one thing to another, there's no productivity at the end but only a loss of resources.

I consider that even with every good intention as well, the online space can end up taking more than what it should from one. A quick peek into those social media platforms, a quick read on that article, a quick look at that video and then time and a lot more is wasted. I've had my share of these things which at the end I'll end up not being happy about the time and resources wasted with no tangible results of productivity gained. So, some measures were put in place for more productivity even while staying online.

The freezer app is a good one. This application comes as a system application in a phone. Its use is to—as the name implies—"freeze" another application. In such a way, you don't get any notifications or access to the freezed application even while connected to an internet network. This has been necessary due to the fact that when there's an established connection to the internet, notifications pop up and down and one is just drawn at some point to want to check out some of them. Unless necessary, some of such applications go to the "freezer" till at least their use is needed.

In a bigger sense, if there's no real need of any of such applications, one that doesn't suggest some good use in the nearest future rather than the distraction it can be, it totally goes through the uninstall process. This have been done with some of such applications, and I'll say, that can be quite helpful. When it's needed the play store isn't far from reach.

Learning to prioritize tasks and activities is a helpful method. Making a priority check has been helpful with being productive online. The needful needed to be done first before the less needed and then the ones that could be of little or not much value such as watching some entertaining reel, provided there's some time to spare. This has been necessary because of how engaging it can be on the online space, and one can easily loose out when jumping from one thing to another.

Well, these are some ways I manage to stay productive online. With more tendencies comes the need for more measures and that's something to consider.
