Whenever I find a notification I don't or never need, I immediately go through its settings from the notification panel and simply turn it off or adjust its priority.
Same. My default response when apps ask me to turn on notifications is to not allow them to bother me. And I do see those notifications as bothers. When I want to know what is going on in an app, I open the app and look at notifications. I am able to do that in my own time. It's my way of protecting my peace and attention.
Peace above every other thing. After all, one is very unlikely to attend to most of the notifications when they arrive, so it's better to just do it at one's time.
I'm curious, though, Android or iOS?
iOS, but not a new device. When I traveled for work the latest phone was necessary. Since all of my business moved online/virtual, there's no need for the latest and greatest device. I've had the same phone for about 5 years. So, I might upgrade next year. Of course Apple has their big event coming next week, so you never know. I just might be tempted.
